Have seen air scoops on other cars other that yours Jeff but still cant find and refrence to them. All i know about model diffrences is that they came
with a 1300 or 1500 motor and bits about roofs and rear seats, there are major diffrences between Aussie built ones compared to the ones made in the
Phillipines.

The air scoops are not factory, they were never sold as either an option or an accessory from any CB article I have seen. I have a sales brochure for
a LHD CB exported to Philippines and there are no scoops available there either.
From what I have learned over the years there were no CBs exported in built up form that were LHD. They were all CKD kit form. The RHD exports to New
Zealand and Malaysia were completely built up.
No export either CKD or built up appears to have been stamped with the KO number from the production line. There is no metal plate welded to the body
for export models.
Only the 887 units produced for Australian sales were stamped with a KO number.
There were 16 1200cc engined Cbs in the total of 887 Australian units.
There was only ever one CB model although the running gear varied in the Phillipines when the final 181 units in CKD form were exported in May
1972.

c/buggy
If you look at the yellow buggy in the thread ( show us your country buggy -in members rides) it appears to have the same guard height as the red one
in this thread. Compare with mine #253.volma1

PS the standard steering wheel ( a 3 spoke one) I think was the one from the poverty/standard beetle from the 50s, though could be wrong. volma1

The CB does seem to be a hard one to investigate. Information seems very scarce. At least u got that brochure though.
Hmm. i have to honestly say, every time i come back to this thread, i'm liking the country buggy a lil' bit more and more. Almost an aquired
taste.
Congrats to u guys keeping the classic alive :beer

Paprika Red was was a colour option... but that Red doesn't look like Paprika red..??
I don't think Pink Was an option colour... ??
although I can only ever remember seeing green ones...
There are two distinct differences in the Pink & Red C/ Buggy front guards.
I wonder if the high cut guards C/B were for the Army although they definately would have been green....
If those guards were pressed, its a big job to change them
Maybe some preproduction parts were used...
as they were trying to use up everything at the closing Volkswagen Australasia factory... at Clayton Victoria.
I noticed on the VW trends Country Buggy article they called VW Australasia : "VW Australia" but it was --
Volkswagen Australasia ... a term which is no longer used.

Paint
Only just saw this thread, but given that it used to be mine and I painted it, I can confirm that it is paprika red- well unless the paint bloke
stuffed it up mixing. It's original colour was beige but that was pretty boring so thought I would go with another original
I have a mate with the vents in place and he has had his for some 30 years, most the the CB that were on the Darling Downs had them, so it must have
been a local aftermarket thing.
.... after seeing all these posts I miss the old girl... but am glad it went to a good home
