All the 4130 tube has gone off for bending, I'll get the pieces back during the week and and I should have the basic cage/chassis tacked next weekend
if the tube notcher arrives. I've split the tank along the waist line and around the cockpit area. Wheelbase is 3000mm with standard rear track and a
slightly wider front. The front single beam is a straight 2" x 0.188" 4130 tube. The rest of the cage is 1 5/8" x 0.095" 4130. :beer

Tyres
Hi Pete,
We can talk some more about tyres.
The maximum speed rating on the tyre is applicable to the maximum load rating. I assume your car will be light which means it shouldn't be a problem
exceeding the speed rating. It might also be an idea to have the tyres buffed down to help them deal with the heat. It's kind of like a more
sophisticated version of what Burn Monroe idi in the movie The World's Fastest Indian. His tyres were only G-rated and he cut the tread off with a
knife.

Just ordered the tube notcher only $390. Went 1/2 with a mate so it works out very reasonable.

All the bent 4130 tube for the cage/chassis was picked up today, the next step is to make the 8 ply bulkheads that will hold the body sections in
position so I can lay out the chassis during construction. Then notch and tack the tubes to suit.

Yeah I've removed a straight section from the center to shorten it. It looks to be from an A6 Intruder but I'm buggered if I can work out how it
came to be in NZ. Might have been available on Skyhawks?
