Like Daimo, I've been to every one.
The first one was held out at the Raleigh Raceway, before it was the great venue it is now. The track was a dirt track, and the layout was vastly
different to the modern layout. Chris Piggott hasn't changed much though.

Great shots Steve. That Carrera in the background belong to a Qld guy...Brett someone I think. He and I did two reports and took some shots that got
combined into a single report on Valla in Hot VW's in about 1988. Personally been to about 6 or so since 1986. Best memory is of Birchall's first
ever performance. PMSL for the rest of the night.

I went to Valla 2004 and my car got absolutely shit canned as it has a radiator. But guess what to all you disbelievers, I'm still around, I'm going
again and yes I am taking the cabrio, only this time it is LOWER and has BIGGER and SHININER chrome wheels, so now not only it is it a fake VW it is
a ricer at that ........ hehehehehe...... Its going to be a great weekend, I can't wait ...... and just so that I do fit in with the crowd a bit, I
will jump into Rod's oval, will give me instant street cred ! :thumb
P.S Hopefully I will have the underbody neons installed before next weekend

This will be only my third visit.
Moments that stick in my mind
1st visit, the cruise from the park to the show in the main street in the Speedster....and spitting the oil filter O ring out cuz I gave it a bit too
much cold!
2nd visit, seeing Dave Birchall set his undies on fire with a 12 volt battery after drinking too much.(strange but true) :beer
Wow, can't wait for visit 3............

This will be my 3rd Valla. First one drove up in the Oval, last one trailered up Bug Boys Oval, this year driving a VW up again in the Type 34. Cant
wait. This is a pic from the parade line up in 2003 I think
