Cool

I have to say i like this sort of stuff!
You don't see to much of it now days but time is money and not many people have both so you don't see these cool things being built.
I think the first vw i liked was a poraga back in the 80's.

Yeah - yes and no

Then you would have JUST another devalued Porsche with the wrong body on it.
Dont think 75's came with the fat bumper. Pretty sure they were later???

Done properly the Porgs did look ok/good

AND if the motor goes your not up for a $10k rebuild!

yep, plenty of mid 70's 911s got tarted up, especially in the early 90's due to the sky rocketing prices at the time ... and this is over priced...but 70s 911s are pretty cheap, personally I'd go for a 912...but that just me.

You have to do what you like at the end of the day, if it floats yer boat, buy it ... just be realistic about the resto costs, so you don't get a shock...

a few points I'd like to make ! you dont add any porsche parts at all just poraga or porrera. you use the original doors so making them fit is not an issue.
the Idea is to make an original car not an exact copy of a porsche and if you do it your self you end up with a car that is how you like it and mechanical repairs are just the same as the stock beetle. body is fibreglass so repairs there are also easy and cheap.
I guess if you don't get the idea of making something personal and fun (fun being the most important part if your not having fun why bother) you just don't get it ....sad really

ive seen a few with major rust problems
once the kit is on there is no way of seeing rust developing in the body underneath let alone having access to fix them
most of them would have been beach cars as well like 90% of vw convertbles which wouldnt help the situation

But thats what makes a good one worth more money.
It like all things we hated, roofracks, headlight stone grills, old kobis that drive shit, under powered beetle and to hard to see out of the back window, cheap fibre glass buggy etc etc .......................................
If you kept all that stuff you would be a rich man! LOL

Creative Cars were an Adelaide mob in the early '80s. Did a ferarri out of a TA22 Celica, various porches, the owner bought a ultra rare 959 or something to base repro's on. Statesmans to Rollers, etc they made lots of moulds for those bedford van A-team mockups, spoilers, really really 'lightship' panels to turn sandman type hq on vans into buck rogers space wagons built to deflower tasty morsels of the day.

Was the local dream yard for many a schoolboy like me.

ppl used to have the cc logo drawn on their skoolbags- kind of like orange county shockers now.

aaah the memories!

kkk

Oh boy what a weekend , finally got my poraga into the shed and started stripping her down for respray , :cussing AHHH my hubby broke the windscreen , I guess toula my grren convertible is doomed to be a donar car :((( as she has already given her heart ( motor to poraga ) and now she is about to give up her windscreen :sniffle::sniffle:
Hopefully I can restore toula to her former glory before too long it seems a waste to wreck her
hoping next weekend is a better one !!!

While you're doing this to it, you may as well get the roof redone they will leak. Look for some Mercedes material which looks great.

Cool car... Remember different is GOOD..

I'm currently thinking about painting my car as the 10K price tag is too much in my option. So I'm looking forward to seeing how this one turns out..

Can you please post when you have finished what produces you used to get the finish?

Was the fiberglass harder to paint then the steel bits etc..

Cheers
Darren..
