Benefit of the doubt man, always better to give it to people than hurt their feelings. I mean, we all allow you to dream about putting ridiculous old
school speed parts on ya beetle, why should we bag his dreams.
If he's winding us up, we can bag him later...or at least all have a laugh together.

Was told today that it cant be regod cause the motor hangs out too far, makes it unstable. So now Im stuck with this thing. Im thinking of building it
into a full on show car. Im thinking 18 inch porsche rims, smick black paint job and leather interior. Only thing is, I will have to trailer it to all
the shows. Should go all right though up at those Sydney shows, might win a trophy I reckon. Flat four shootout perhaps. Will see how we go. Gotta
say, thanks Pete for your support, you are a true gentleman. As for the rest of you, we will see whose laughing when I take home all those Sydney
trophies.

its called expression of ones self.
try telling all the custom car builders/hot rodders that spend hundreds of thousands on cars that its not worth it.
or you could just try telling someone like chip foose or boyd coddington.
not everyone needs to go pick up shopping in their car.

Sorry to hear the bad news man. But there are some other options. Iwouldn't do the show car thing though. Lot's of money and time, not much fun.
I'm not sure where you live Robert, but if you live near a drag strip, what the car would be really good as would be a wheelstander. They were very
popular in the 60 and 70s. The idea is you just take it to the drags and a do a full track wheestand as an entertainment thing. It does look old and
cool, so maybe that's the go.
Otherwise, sell the motor conversion off to someone on Ebay and keep the beetle and put something a little more sensible in it. It is a great rat
looker after all, baja or not.

Ok. That's enough. give him a break. Baja robert, you own a truly unique Volkswagen and you should be proud on what you have. Ignore what most other
people say and what you do with your money is your buisness and if you want to make a trophy winner, you do that. Awesome car and goodluck with her.
Every VW is unique and should be rspected no matter the condition as long as it carries a Vw badge. Even if it looks like this.
Give him a break. We are here to talk VW's and not to "BAG" peoples rides.

I know I know the age of political correctness but come on this is a joke, and I just don't seem to get the point.
I mean two days ago on the 25/9/06 he says....
"Here is some pics of my baja. Picked it up last week. I imported it it from a guy in the US. Its been converted to a valiant hemi six engine. Man
this car is so fast. Taking it to the local engineer soon, so I can rego it. Cant wait to cruise in it."
He then posts a pick from supposedly the USA.
then two days later on the 27/9/06 he says this.....
"Thanks guys for the support. To answer a few questions, Cost $1200 to get it out. Shared a container with my dads mate, who brings out taco sauce
from the south of the usa. To the 13 blokes who u2u'd me regarding buying the beast, thanks for the offers, but my mate Kustomcool has bought it and

Its all good boys. Everyone is allowed their own opinion. 1916, you have been truly supportave, cheers. Its good to get some different opinions.
Anyways, I got my money back on the sale of the beast, so Im happy."
Now he tells us he shared a crate with a taco sauce tycoon, while having the car engineer assessed and sold for $1300 all in 2 days, all while never
producing a picture of the beast in oz.
I get that its a joke, but what I don't get is WHY? What is the point?
