I recently explored the Rhino case option for my rebuild and couldn't seem to find anyone to confirm that the Rhino case was better/stronger than a
standard SSP case.
Then the other thing to consider on top of the cost of the Rhino case is the additional cost of 2 X heavy duty side covers because they only make dual
side plate Rhino cases.

Hi Paul
The side load is only on one side on the gearbox, that's why VW went single side plate.

Rhino cases use a pre 1500 (included) pinion bearing and therefore require
a pinion bearing retainer that is made of stronger material(available from Bergs and others).
There is also a modification that can be done using 8mm head studs as through bolts.
There is also a position on ONLY the Rhino case,
where an additional 10mm stud can be fitted between the others, near the pinion.
This requires FULL CIRCLE side covers on both sides.
Weddle is the only one that I know of that sells them, and they are not cheap,
(and you want two).
You could have them made...where does it end?
I ran 10.70's with a single side cover case. That will be fine.
If you want better, Do what Stevo is doing with the G50.
