Hi, I have merged your thread into this one. I assume you have figured out you can buy albins gears in any ratios.
If you have a lot of HP and torque, you don't need 5 gears. Top fuellers only have 1
I have my gearbox set-up so 1-3rd is normal, and 4th is an overdrive. It's like a 5 speed with no 4th. It works fine cos I have excessive amounts of
torque. In normal driving I take off in 2nd a lot anyway. So on surburban roads I only really use 2nd and 3rd.
Check the prices on boxes from the US, make sure you have correct shipping estimates and check the import duty. A mate got cheap BRM's from the UK,
but had to pay heaps for import duty so they ended up being expensive.

And did you have your gearbox rebuilt locally whith your own gears or did you buy a prebuilt performance box?
