Agreed, and while we are on the topic of basic social skills on forums :-

I thought not swearing in the presence of women, children and the elderly was also a basic social skill. We have people from every demographic on this forum and people swear completely inappropriately.

I personally don't appreciate allot of the language used on this forum and I don't consider myself a prude. The way some of you carry on I'm sometimes embarrassed to call my self an AussieVeeDubber.

I come on here to talk dubs, not read profanity. So while you guys are pointing fingers maybe a bit of naval gazing is in order.

Well I'm f#cked then, aren't I?? :P

But seriously, the mechanism has always existed to ban trouble makers.
They come back under a different name, ban em again. It's a fair bet they'll get tired of it before the delete key wears out.
But the easiest way is ignore it. Shit stirring only works if someone bites.

I completly agree with you MikeM.......I wouldn't call you a prude at all,but having said that stick your head out the window and listen to the ways that people "interact" these days(showing my age) some of the crap played on the local radio just as an example. Swearing, rude behaviour and a total disrespect for the elderly/women/children and each other is,unfortunately commonplace these days. It is what society has bacome or is in the process of morphing into. The "Basic Social Skill" as we used to call it is no longer practised and is often ridiculed.Gone are the days you would stand up tall and pretend to behave when you saw the cops,in fear of them partly but mainly RESPECT. These days people swear at them and show nothing but disrespect. Perhaps using a "fake" name is just peoples ways of showing a legitimate intrest in the forum without having to be associated with other non desireable elements like bad language or rude behaviour (that unfortunately some think should be tollerated because they practise it) ,but still having some input non the less......food for thought.:dork: Personally....yeh....some areas are going downhill fast and are turning me off the site but i wouldn't blame it on using "fake" names:jesus

There's been a few on here that have come back with different ID's and been banned, but the process is slow. First of all you need to pick up some of the like patterns that people have in the way they type, and the attacks they make, and then check IP addresses to see if they match the previous person. Then you go through the u2u process before banning as well. All fun and games.

That's why it's just easier to come on here and just be nice instead.

Now that's where I think your wrong.

I don't have a problem with a decent barney, so long as it doesn't turn into a personal slanging match.

This is the entire idea of a forum. A meeting place for the exchange of ideas & opinions.
If I think your wrong, I will say so, clearly & concisely.
If you ask my opinion, I will give it. If you have a problem with it being different to yours, well maybe you shouldn't have asked.

Top of my list would have been;
"people who think they can catagorise a f#ckwit".

I fit in to quite a few of those catagories. I'm not sure whether I'm a f#ckwit, although I do happily acknowledge that I'm a complete c#nt, which makes me awfully hard to insult.

Is that close enough??

Now you've quoted me & your user name has nothing to do with your ride, so you you fit into the f#ckwit fold too.

Aparently there's a hell of a lot of us.

I was going to ask if this clown might regret the "20 ways to spot a f#ckwit" post, but I see he's already removed it.

So the answer would be YES.........:P:P:P

The post in question has vanished Steve.

Basically it was 20 ways to spot a f#ckwit.

One of them was people who quoted others, another was those whose user name wasn't about their car.

I imagine it makes it hard for those who didn't see it to follow what's happening now.

My mobile # hasn't changed in ten years. You should have it.

yes it all seemed to be getting agro, and the quoters we're out, so deleted it to prevent further agro attacks and endless quoting .. blah...

Don't believe I had a go at anyone personally. I was addressing the 'behaviour' of certain types of people and well known characteristics of that behaviour in forum posts.

Often (but not always) these people are using fake names to do this.
