the motor i purchased off barry mac who some of you may know (who might i add is a champion bloke)
its a 87x105 type 4, je pistons, custom cam, big valve heads @10.2:1, porsche fan shroud, 44idfs. currently has a 009 but would like to run the
unilite ive acquired if it will fit.
barry used the motor when he raced desert rallys. hence how dirty it is. it has a dry sump which i doubt ill be useing, nor will i use the airbox
setup he has fabricated. same goes for the exhaust which i will more than likely have custom made.
my good friend the great don damo will aid his expertise with tearing this bad boy down. as we have all seen, the work damo does is second to none and
will not go unappreciated.
appreciate the comments. is slowly but surely coming together.
will keep updates coming.

well - started the tear down of the motor at damo's tonight around 7:30pm and finished up around 11:30pm. awesome night and an unreal learning
opportinuty for myself - what can i say, damo is THE shit.
turns out i was incorrect as to what i thought i had purchased. the heads are 914 heads 48x38, 82mm scat counterweighted crank x 105mm JE pistons
(2840cc), 5.5" rods, custom cam and the list goes on.
started taking pictures but the camera died. hopefully damo will post some pics tomorrow if he feels up to it.
nick
oh - and the belt driven coffee grinder was made by toyota and appeared to hold transmission fluid? (red) as i found out all over my white shorts.....

Nice work Bond, its good to see dubbers helping dubbers. I've heard Damo is the man, too bad he's 1000k's away could've helped with my 2L
turbo.
Keep up the good work just wak A1 1 3/4 headers with 3" muffler on that baby and watch it scream.A properly set up 091 with short Albins gears you
should get some serious 1/4 times or will it be a freeway flyer/road warrior? |

Some pics of the teardown, inspection shows no cracks in the heads will be able to tell after i dissasemble and media blast heads, which were
originally done by FAT Performance in California, Crank is a Scat 82mm with porsche journals still have to dissasemble and measure to confirm all up
is looking positive at the moment after cleaning will give me a better idea. And the pic of Bond himself, look at that enthusiasm. Cheers Damo.

took a step back unfortunately over the last few weeks and sold off the brakes in another of my "undecided tantrums" that i throw so the pan is now no longer rolling.
did however spend the day completely stripping the body (minus doors) ready for sandblasting and etch priming over the next few weeks in preperation
for some body mods.

check out the pics after stripping the motor - and then with a little of damo's fairy dust........
914 heads 48x38 with 5th stud.
manifolds and heads are slightly ported at current...
105mm JE pistons
and cast barrells
depending on how things play out they will more than likely be coated through these guys - http://www.thermaledgecoating.com.au
or may go nikasil.
and the mallory unilite
slowly chipping away.

well. its been 6 months after dropping the body at global powdercoating at salisbury but we got there. body sandblasted and black etch primed. golde
rag clip was also blasted and primed. pics to follow.
although its difficult to see with the black etch and the light, there is some chronic pitting in the roof. most of which will be removed for the rag
clip.
pan is currently down at cvd for custom suspension fabrication. will get the body down to them in the near future
motor is at thermal edge coatings at virginia - am having a new 2L type 4 case machined with welded 5th stud and internal clearancing for the stroked
crank. as well as some thermal coatings in combustion chamber on heads, cylinders honed and pistons coated in a dry lubricant.
091 box is sitting on my garage floor hehe.
things are moving again. happy days.
