I take it that the Alcorn boys have that Honda that Rod ran..?
Did I hear it ran 11.82? If so what was the terminal speed?
Has anyone got any specs on the engine?
Couldn't resist.. :kiss

Again sorry for the poor video skills (will need to invest in an actual digi video cam one day)....I think this was the start of col's run (bit of a
bog)...
And another of Dave's runs - was this the one you slightly missed the start Dave (ie. lost concentration slightly)?

The brothers running the hondas have two - one running just under 14 (first time 13.9? which was a break out), and the other into the 11.8's - sorry
don't know any engine specs and can't recall best MPH (116 or 117 from memory for the faster of the two cars - ie. the red one)

Thanks to all who attended and helped out. We had a busy pit all day. Im sure the VW drag ranks will keep growing.
Also thanks to Pete (Dak-a-Tak) for his endless effort on my car. A few observations from the day :-
1. You think you are going fast till a Honda or Dave passes you at 118mph.
2. The Smith car looks stunning in its new paint.
3. You dont realise how crazy the rotary guys are till you watch a pass from the start line.
Rod .

The Alcorn Boys ran into the 11.6's which is pretty stout.
I know this is a VW forum but I have to give them a pat on the back
for being very good sported fellows, and very friendly.
Those cars are pretty impressive!
Did I tell you that those times they ran were on street tyres
and then they packed up and drove both home!
I know that Glenn and Jason both get on and have a look at Aussieveedubbers, so, good effort guys!

From memory the slower of the 2 alcorn brothers is running an 84-85ish Civic(gutted shell) with the 1600 vtec transplanted into it. Aftermarket ECU
with intake and exhaust mods and on street tyres. Ran into the 13's for the first time against Dangerous in the final.
His brothers car is a little more serious and isnt road registered from memory and has honda's k20 2 litre vtec in it(from Type S Integra/ S2000) It
has exhaust, aftermarket ECU and intake mods. I think he ran a best of 11.61 at 116mph again on street legal drag radials. Both these cars would weigh
about 900kg with driver.
Hats off to them both for their efforts and consistancy. I think all motor category is starting to be touted as the VW vs VTEC category LOL

I spoke with Jason and Glenn during the day and after the final.
Both these cars were driven home after the event.
Cars are less than 800kg ready to race.
K20A and B16A are the engine designations from the links I posted above.
OK. Enough Honda talk!!

Rod and Dave race was very tuff both ran very hard.Rods
