Dave you are right, WSID is a joke, I hate going there, it's just too fancy, and too expensive for us "normal" drag racers, Bring on Warwick,

If you were to get some good sponsers and at least 50 entrys although it would only be for one day the 28 k fee isn't that hard to acheive or even
mabey share it with a Porche club or similar to boost the numbers and share the orginising
What about where you used to run the drags for the nationals ??

50 entrants and good sponsors doesn't even come close to half of $28,000 - if it wasn't for the good people at Warwick Dragway and some concessions
made to expenses, then Warwick wouldn't happen either. This racing business ain't half expensive!

No he's not bringing it out as they reacon they have no good tyres , bloody sooks
|
That's no excuse,
I have some slicks they can use!
It is not a sook if they are afraid? (...yeah it is!:kiss)
Actually it is a shame to 'not run' when the car is sitting there and they have had plenty of time to prepare.
Being afraid is OK, but Warwick would have been the perfect atmosphere to have a first time shot.
Fear is a good sign that they respect the power and unknown.
I will be surpised if we ever see the car run.
Unless of course they plan a big entrance.

"What about the turbo'd car from Mick Motors I think. It was in the latest addition of the mag. Is it coming? Didn't notice it on the list."
why go to the trouble of importing a built and tested car to not run at the biggest vw drag event in australia?
maybe rohan/rowan can explain?

Fingers crossed mine will be done! Just starting to bolt on fanshroud etc now so I'll hopefully fire it up tomorrow if there are no major dramas -
nothing like a last minute rush!
|
We are still going to take my brother's car to warwick even though it isn't running. Gave it a good clean up last night so everyone can have a peep
at what Troy and I have been up to lately.
After that we went to Dak A tak's and help Pete on his Yellow car while Troy put some finishing touches on a temporary engine into the Chop top. I
left just after midnight as I had to work today so not sure how long they worked after I left but Pete did say the night before was 3.30ish to bed!!!!
But the yellow car is certainly looking the goods for sure!!
as for Mick Motors and their car i drive past everyday and there it sits in the shed covered in a heavy layer of bull dust with no cover over it or
the engine.
Shame to see a car like that not competiting. It could be some very good advertising for their business if they got it out and just had a go......
See you all at Warwick!!! Myself, Troy, Pete and Rod Richardson are pitted in the big white marquee just down from the tower. Come and say hi!!

Just to let people know I was talking to Aaron Roberts with the black Kombi
and other than the 6-speed 996 tranny,
he has an extra 130 hp than last year(INSANE).
That, I think is over 530hp at the wheels.
Can you say "10 second Kombi!!!"
