Here's a link to the web page
http://nationalbugin.org.au/bug-in_nepean_valley_2008_calendar.pdf
Pretty sure you will be able to get CAMS licences on the day, & 1 day memberships to NVCC if you're not in a CAMS club.
Should be a good weekend.

For the Skid Pan Motorkhana, you will need:
CAMS L2NS Lic.
Be at least 12 years old,(L2NSJ Lic. availabe for juniors)
& have a seat belt. If you are in an open car (no windscreen) you will also need a helmet & goggles/visor.
For the Dirt Circuit, you will need:
CAMS L2NS Lic.
Be at least 14 years old(if previously done a motorkhana)Fire extunguisher, Seat belt, Helmet, Drivers of open cars will also need long sleeves &
long pants.
For the North Cct., you will need:
CAMS L2S Lic.
Be at least 14 years old,(L2SJ Lic)
Fire extinguisher, Seat belt, Helmet, Everyone needs to wear long sleeves & long pants, a Blue Battery triangle.
I will have to look up the CAMS manual about ROPS & Harness belts rules, cant remember off the top of my head... Will post up asap.

If the car is road registered you dont need any ROP. If you do have it, when you are sitting in the car your helmet cant be higher than the rollover
bar. You cant be excluded for not having a rollbar. You can be excluded for having a rollbar 1/2" too short.

ROPS... Roll Over Protection Structures info:
as per schedule J in CAMS Manual. http://www.cams.com.au
Whilst not compulsory for road registered & closed cars,
Open cars with only an unsupported/non braced roll bar (hoop) and any part of a 3 point seat belt attached to it will not pass scrutiny.
So basically if you only have a hoop roll bar you won't pass scrutineering.
If you have an approved ROPS, you need an approved harness. 3 point belts not allowed with ROPS.

Car prep.
Time to think about preparing my car.
New shocks are in order. The old konis are not as smooth as they used to be. They're 10 years old which is a bit of a sin because they should really
be replaced about every 3 years to be kept at their best. There's no point having good tyres if you don't have good shocks to work with them.
I suspect the valves in the head are short because there's not much room to coil bind at .460 thou lift. So I'm going to whip the heads off and
compare the length with some borrowed ones. Hopefully then I can swap the 1.1 rocker arms with 1.25 arms.
I should have the shorter manifolds on this weekend for testing down the 1/4 mile.
I've just joined the VW Club of NSW as my CAMS affiliated Club and renewed my CAMS licence which somehow got lost in the post.
I think an ARDC day at Eastern Creek will be on the cards in Jan or Feb next year to test the shocks back to back, try the big swaybar if the smaller
rear springs have reduced the turn-in and to try some tyre pressure theories.
I'm sure there are others going to a lot more effort. Who is doing what? Where are your cars up to?
My to do list is mainly an excuse to pull stuff apart.

Got my IRS/Balljoint chassis finished (in regards to being all painted up, etc...) for the Ghia
Sorted some good SAAS seats on CAMS approved sliders
KONI reds (altho, sort of in the same boat as yours, CT)
Now all I have to do is the body: Finish rust repairs, bare metal, prep & respray.
Retrim and fit the interior, redo the chrome... Oh and then got to figure out a motor, brakes wheels and tires
Should be do-able buy Easter, yeah?

Mines nearly all sorted ready for some autocross and hill climb shake downs ever xmas and early next year.
jsut got to do battery pull cable.
Reset seat posistion (needs some custom brackets)
get body worked tidied up
check all the front bushes and replace if required
wheel alingment
Bleed brakes and see if i can get some better pads
plus the usual service, clean out, degrease, fit harness, check semi's are all good.
And if i have time and money
New ignition
LSD
Rear brake upgrade
adjustable front strut tops
So not really that much to do........
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
Go hard or go home!!!!

Right now I think I'd have to wash Jezebel... and maybe put some fuel in....
... BUT that's no fun though, so like CT I've planned some things for across the Dec-Jan break in events:
- stiffer springs up front
- 944T brakes all round (picked up the last few bits I needed on the weekend)
- pull engine and check everything
- possibly a Quaife
- finally get the engine lid the same colour as the rest of the car
- reset all the suspension heights (again)
- wheel align and dyno
- add some go-fast stickers !!!

I'll be emailing these gents at the end of the week to get the sup regs and entry forms
Lap Dash, Show n Shine and Swap Meet enquiries.
Rick Feruglio
Ph. 0418 639 207
email feruglio@bigpond.com
MotorKhana, Khanacross and Trade enquiries .
Scott Harper
Ph. 0419 550 500
Email: sporting@nvcc.com.au
I'm really looking forward to doing this event. The good thing about a lap dash is that it is short so the hillclimbers can join in without worrying
about overheating unlike multi-lap supersprints.
I haven't been on a track since May and I'm itching to do some laps.
Mind you it is fun taking the beetle to the beach. It turns a lot of heads now the polished Fuchs are back on it and it has a nose-down stance aka
Cal-Look.

Looks like it is getting a bit of attention. But with no engine & box how is he going to race it. Its a bit hard to push a race car around the
track and set any sort of a time.

Could every one who intends on entering in ANY of the Bug-In activities please go to the web site, down load the itinerary and send in your
registration form, (if you havn't already of course)
As you can imagine, running 3 motorsport events at once plus all the other activities requires alot of planing & paperwork.
PRE REGISTERING is the ONLY way to go!
Although it will be availale on the day, we would also greatly appreciate it if all mororsport entrants could get regionaly scruitineered the week
before the event.
CAMS car club membership will be available on the day, but again, if you need a CAMS Licence, best be organising it now.
The more technical/pen pushing stuff we all do now, the more fun we can have on the day!!
P.S. Reservered 'Bug-In' accomodation at the H.Q. is almost booked out too..

Hey frogman, have you applied for the permit yet? Last year hillclimb permits were getting approved in 2 days. This year we're harnessing synergies
with the new you beaut centralised system and it took over 3 weeks. Just a heads up, just in case. You're probably heaps more organised than I am and
dont need this advise though
