Just one last question...
In this ad on the samba it says it is a type 1 Judson but it has the one pulley, can you tell if it is a 36 or a 40hp?

Kev

Cheers mate,
I'll drop him a mail now. I've just asked John from the Judson register the same question, I'll let you know how I go.
Thanks again,
Kev

distance
Your looking at 80mm , but thats on a 36hp blower.
Not sure if they are different to a 40hp. The only diferance I know of between the 36hp and 40hp blower is the the outlet hole.
On a 36hp blower its in the middle as to a 40hp is offset.
Everything 36HP !

I'm with Dave on that, i'd say its a 40hp because of the spacer and only 36hp had twin belts.
But you rally need to see the underside of the blower to see the outlet pos.

Hi All,
Just a quick update on the blower search, I just bought this pretty complete Judson kit - should arrive in the next few weeks and if all goes to plan,
installed over the Christmas break.
Thanks for all the helpful advice, I'm sure I'll need some more before I'm done!
Cheers,
Kev

sweet
You just need a coil and i'm not sure about 40hp but on a 36hp setup you need a stronger spring in the fuel pump so i'd ask around on the register
about that or Dave might know. Another thing is to find out what size jet came with a 40hp kit for the carb.

I've got a bit of a list started already, the main thing is still to try and get the whole lot (minus Judson filter) under the lid without cutting.
Is there any specific reason to use the Judson coil? I know they are pretty rare as well.
Apparently the standard fuel pump spring is fine with the type 2, just need a 135 jet.
But the first thing I need to do is order some of those sweet 'Supercharged by Judson' badges!

badges
I've got a few badges here somewhere, I'll dig em up.
You don't need to run the coil but they look good, I bought mine from off this forum a few months back.
They sell for around $80-$100 for a good used one.
Good news is they run on both 6 and 12 volt.

Hi Bugboy,
That would be great, let me know what you would like for them and I'll sort you out.
It's a good thing the exchange rate is up at the moment, I got a feeling I'll be putting in some US orders soon!
Cheers,
Kev

The glass bottle looks different..is it original? You might want to contact glider69 here as I believe he is selling the old Judson engine I had...I
believe I sold the completed engine to him for about $3.5K.

I'm really not sure about the bottle being original, I will have to wait till it arrives and have a proper look as the pics are a bit soft.
All the best,
Kev

yeah thats NOt the origional glass bottle / jar
the origional has a frosted top n bottom section like the one Aldo just sold
thats a square shaped Mason jar that you buy in the hardware stores in the USA
The closest jar to origional in shape and size is available here in Aussie in the supermarket Its a quart jar of Egg Mayoniase thats made in the
US I have one of these as a spare for my blowers
