On a lighter note though my seats and door trims picked up today look pretty sweet and my engine will be assembled by monday...brakes should be here in a week or so and gearbox in a couple more weeks

Engine is a 2L type IV with upright cooling - stock 71mm stroke with slightly oversize (94.5mm) p&c's. Dual 40 dells, will get a custom exhaust now I don't have to rush it to get ready.

4 wheel discs from CB performance in porche pattern to suit the Fuchs....line lock...Holley blue pump with red regulator....etc

Seats and door trims are done in tan vinyl - leather was way to exy! Seat frames etc powdercoated in silver.

Haven't finalised colour yet - I seem to change my mind every second day!

The POR15 on the pan, is it sprayed or brushed on ?

Never used it before, is it the best for pans/suspensions ?

POR15 was sprayed on my pan - pretty easy if you've done any spraying before - just have to buy the chassis coat and the solvent ($105 for 1L of paint and about $25 for solvent) - 1L covered two coats top and bottom of pan. Good stuff and nice satin finish.

Yep Brad, pretty bummed about the nasty doors and other surprises but better to do it right the first time!

Here is the colour sample I will be painting my beetle in....I will be doing some custom mixing though to personalise it a bit, probably make it a bit darker...see what happens!

Thank you all. Hopefully by this weekend I'll be finished all welding (thank god for that). Then I can start panel beating, bog work (hopefully not too much), then prime, base coat, clear coat....can't wait for that day!

Will be seeing the automotive engineer later this week - hopefully won't have too many dramas with the brakes, engine, suspension etc.
