You lot should start charging the government for rain causing activities!! Looks like another wet weekend down there as what just hit here is on it's
way down........we got a 10 liter bucket full here last night in 4 1/2 hours.....I got caught in it driving at 1130pm and had to stop for 1/2 an hour
as I couldn't see where the road was !!!!

The Mt Mee road conditions have been updated;
"Mount Mee State Forest and Forest Reserve - some tracks not traversable due to heavy rains
Heavy weather has made travelling the roads and firebreak network of Mount Mee Forest Reserve difficult and care should be taken on all roads and
tracks. Keep to main access roads as some firebreaks and tracks will not be traversable. "
I also went into the EPA office here in the city, and they said it's likely a real mess up there and they wouldn't recommend going this weekend. I
know they normally get a lot of problems with fallen trees on the tracks, and lots of little creek crossings that can get washed out badly.
On the up side, I did get a hard copy D’Aguilar brochure which has a simple Map of Mt Mee and the main tracks. I will scan it later.
I think we could go but we'd probably have to keep it to a more simple cruise through the state forest, with a stop at the main attractions like the
Rocky Hole swimming hole and the lookout.

If your referring to me  , I'm trying to
encourage the Manxclub to act responsibly and follow the "tread lightly" 4wd mindset. 
4wd clubs ripping up tracks like Spicers gap and others in the wet weather is how 4wd access becomes banned.

If it's too wet and these conditions cannot be met then it is in your best interest to postpone for another weekend. The last thing the Buggy Heads
need is for a ranger to bust us when we shouldn't be there.
The Manx Club has written countless letters to the state government, QPWS, NPA, councils and other agencies to try and keep 2WD access to the SE QLD
beaches including Fraser, Straddie, Noosa North Shore and Bribie. Allot of effort has been put in to try and keep us Buggy and Baja heads access to
some of the great places we take for granted. Most of our justification for access to these areas is our RESPONSIBLE use of the areas and our tread
lightly attitude.
Consider all the future weekends you will miss out on when all the access roads are permanently closed all for one day of fun in the mud.

Sorry boys but myself and Brad? are not available now for tomorrows trip but to the rest of you have fun and we look foward to the pics.

Well the weather held out for us (well actually the other may get some rain).
We met at Dayboro, there was (in order on photo below) me (V6 Baja), Neil (type 1 Baja) and Dave (EFI Type 4 Baja). Graham was hopping between Neil
and Dave's Baja's, and I had my wife along with me for company.
All Baja's!!! Where are all these buggies that people seem to be building?
I took us in through the easiest of the 3 Dayboro end entrances, straight up to the main picnic area. We had a look for warnings at the main map and
rangers hut but couldn't see any. The tracks were suprisingly dry and dusty to start with. There were a massive number of cars (which trailer all the
trail bikes) parked at the state forest entrance.
As we started the cars again Dave found out his exhaust had decided to crack, it now sounds like a Harley. I then took us down to the Rocky Hole
swimming hole. It is a graded dirt road so all pretty easy. There was a quarry off to the right with a pretty insane looking hill, but no-one tried
it. The swimming hole had plenty of water.
We then went in search of the Somerset look-out. The first part I knew well and picked the right tracks through the maze that is Mt Mee. There was
another little quarry on the right that we played in, Graham should have some pics.
We went through the little pine plantation section, and then had to turn right off to the look-out. The only prob is there are heaps of right turns,
and I picked the wrong one. We went along a track I hadn't been on. We came to a large puddle and I charges into it. It was fine 75% across, and then
the left side of the car dropped into a big hole and water came up to the windscreen on the left and pushed water under the bonnet somewhere. It
flooded through the air con footwell vents all over my feet. Better than pooling under the bonnet I guess. The others learnt from my mistake and went
to the right through the water hole. Shortly after Neil's left headlight fell out and Dave picked it up.
The tracks turned into smaller tracks with lots of water-bars and puddles. I was a bit more cautious in the remaining puddles  The V6 is good for the water-bar hills, I lugged around everywhere in 2nd
gear.
I figured I'd taken a wrong turn and stopped. About 10 seconds later 15 trail bikes went flying past from the other direction, lucky we stopped off
the main track, or we might have had a head on. The lead guy came flying up the hill at high speed doing a massive wheelstand, it was pretty cool. I
asked them which way to the lookout and they pointed the other way which is what I expected. We turned around and found it easy enough.
I then tried to get us back to the main picnic area. We took a wrong turn, but I realised about 1km down and we did a U-turn. I had a few key points
to work with from my Dirty weekends book, although my GPS didn't quite agree with them I could figure out basically where to go.
After a snack in the picnic area I decided to head off home, as I've got a few things I need to do this arvo. The other two kept going and I left
them to explore the southern tracks which can be a real maze. It also looks like they may get rained on judging by the BOM. If they don't post here
tonight, then they are probably still in there lost

We had a great time, mostly dry and dusty when we went in. There are some great views from the Lookouts. After Wes left we tried a few side tracks to
the south and found a few interesting creek crossings.
Definately worth more trips into the area to check out more of the tracks.
There are 105 pics up now, and hopefully I'll get some vid up tomorrow.
Thanks to the guys that made the trip.
