Now here's a hint for anybody planning a shed, talk to the council first, front up and ask for the inspector for your area or if there is no
particular inspector ask for the top dog,(probably don't say dog). Talk to them, tell them you just "want to do the right thing but this is what I
want because.............." do some groveling and suck some r's, makes them feel important and that you are their newest best friend. If you have
them on your side they make it less hard for you and will often suggest ways of doing "the right thing" so that you get what you want. I can tell
you that all this is learned from experience.

Love the shed, looks like just one bloke constructing it, likes to take it easy too by the look of that lifter he is using on the truss.

Gotta get the baja ready for Levuka and changing tyres comes under maintenance......so I am not technically sure how often I may have to take the
tyres off and put them on over the next couple of weeks. But rest assured, the rattle gun will be working dead on 7 (I think that is the time you can
start making noise during the week) changing those tyres. Oh and don't forget the droning noise of the air compressor going on and off, and anything
else we can think of........... Hmmmm have shelves and work benches to assemble to go in garage....what tools can I use to assemble them in the
carport. Got an air drill for Christmas.........haven't tried it out yet......may have to use it for those shelves etc.

Thanks for that Marc.
I'm looking at building a double garage (6 x 6 m) in blockwork over here (UK). The estimate's around the same.
That looks a nice & easy solution.
Will be nice having somewhere dry to work where you don't have to put your tools away every time
Cheers

Hehe,
sounds like a great idea
Mine is 7m wide and comfortably fit's the beetle, type 3 and kombi side by side, can only get two out at a time though
I put it up myself, all the roof was put on from the roof rack of the kombi
I was very glad I put hte insulation under the roof sheets though!

Hey Rob that's good yours is done. They say mine should be done by Tuesday if the rain stops.
What is the name of the stuff you used for the floor? and where did you get it from?
Is it slippery when it gets wet?
We are going to insulate it with Pink bats or something like that.

a mate does this sort of thing, his called Future Floors...seamless epoxy coatings...
http://www.futurefloors.net.au
it does get slippery but the pros far weigh out the cons
we even put a dunny pipe in the back corner, which might show in one of the pics....

Family BBQ in the carport? There won't be room for all the type 3's will there?
Looking great!!
I put an industrial floor paint on the floor in mine (don;t remember the brand). Not as good as the epoxy, but does stop oil soaking in (not that my
VW's leak oil...) Has stood up well so far. I went with a "brushed finish" on the concrete (drag a broom over concrete just before it cures). Makes
it a bit harder to sweep, but not slippery at all when wet.

Yeah I went with the brush finish aswell. When I do the floor there is some stuff that you put in the paint about the size of sand that makes it non
slip.
