Going to see another one on Wednesday! Another '69, but with a roof this time. I really like the look of it in the pics so it's time to do some
careful rust examination... I think that after reading bugshop I now understand the heater channels in theory, but still not sure what exactly are the
bits to look at in the 'flesh'... So guess we'll just pull back carpets and look at as much as we can!
It'll also be good to try driving another 1500 as the engine felt a lot better on the 1600L than the 1500 that I drove on Saturday, would be good to
see if it's that the 1600 just is 'better', or if the first 1500 just wasn't in very good nick, which is what it felt like to me. In my very
finite knowledge!

Er, not that one! Didn't have to look hard for the rust, it was a bit of a state outside and in! Wasn't bad to drive though, still had a nice play,
just to make sure it wasn't a wasted trip...
Guess it's all good learning!
So far the first one we looked at is the best by miles! Shame it's registered in ACT and would need stuff doing to it to get the blue slip - I know
the speedo isn't working and there will always be something. Starting to think it might be worth another look though...
And may be time to look a bit further afield, so far we have only gone to ones that are nearby so there are plenty of ads that we have been ignoring.
And it's fun to go and drive them!!

10 years ago i used to bank on spending $1000 on any registered car i bought to get it up to scratch. now i'd imagine it would be more. a good car is
worth traveling for so expanding your search can't hurt.

Yes, I think that I will.
Just goes to show that you can't know what a car's going to be like until you go and have a look at it yourself, the one we saw yesterday was only
slightly less $$ than the first one that we saw (which was in good condition as far as we could tell) and was described as 'no rust' but it was
rusted through in lots of places and just battered all over! Ok, so I didn't believe that there would be no rust, but i thought that it would be more
hidden than it was!
