lol @ Andy, every kombi I have personally known has done that hey! Man that engine looks sweet, you even wiped your dinner crumbs off before you took

Is it too hard to beleive that when people on this forum make suggestions or give new ideas that it really is in the hope that they help people?
What is beyond me is how it took a pic of a 40'000 k ceramic coated exhaust to convince some people.
Heaven forbid if some of us did things a little differently.
Now, I wonder if I can Ceramic coat my chidren?...............

Hahahahaha,
Jak I was just as bad. I had never even considered ceramic coating until I saw an old muffler on a bus I went to look at.
The bus was that rusty from having a hard life on the beach I was amazed it still drove, but the exhaust looked in great nic!!
I never bought the bus but had to ask what was on the exhaust.
Never looked back since 
PS: It CAN'T protect the inside though. They to spray inside as much as they can if you ask, but obviuosly there is a limit to how far they can
get in, particularly the exhaust. Just make sure the system is sound first. My exhaust was old but had no pitted rust in it.

if you get a new exhaust coated it will just about outlive you its that good as for internals talk to the supplier this stuff works as they say i
have found competition coatings to be excellent listen to what they suggest and you will get the benefits and its not really that expensive the heat
dispersant is fantastic as is their graphite coating :beer |

Jak, I was already sold, just on the comments prior to the photo, but have to admit that the photo really drives it home. That looks great Andy!

I had a look at the companies suggested, and will definitely be using ceramic coating, including the pistons and bearing journals. I'm not doing
it yet though, I'm just planning and trying to work out how much money its gonna need. :o
I definitely think the extra expense will be worth it though. I'm trying to plan a motor that won't mind having a supercharger bolted on
later, and heat control is the most important factor at the moment. 
So far I've decided on a counter-weighted crank (loved the sound of the kombi at the Melbourne Dyno day!!! :thumb) and stock everything else, but
ceramic-coated. I inted to use programmable injection later when I can afford it, and once that is sorted I'll start playing with the
supercharger. :thumb
I heard the kombi at the Dyno Day was good for 500 Nm. I don't plan to rev it hard, but heaps of torque is good!! :thumb

Sounds like you have had a lot of thought in ref to your new motor and the coatings that will go in/on it!
Would like to say "THANKS" for the rap you gave my Kombi (a few posts up!) at the Melbourne Dyno day.....it did sound OK, however it went
better then I expected.....it will be going alot better when I get the time to tune my haltech injection and get some Berg duel valve springs and
"porsche elephant swivel foot adjusters".
Hope you have fun building your motor!

G'day Mick, I didn't even make the connection!! Well now I know who you are. 
I was more than impressed by your engine. So much so that I've decided to put a CW crank in my 2L when I eventually do it. I know we discussed
strokers at the dyno day, but this motor is going to exy enough anyway. I'm more interested in finding out how good a 2L can be. Your motor
convinced me that I don't need the expense of a bigger donk. :thumb

Certainly looks like it. The silver also stands up well, even to oil stains etc (not that push rod tubes ever leak do they??). I was told the black
gives slightly better protection for only a few more dollars.
