just hoping to fill the gap at the front (3 inches?), and rear - running standard wheels and tires, untill the budget allows me to go a bit lower.
thinking the veeforce spyder wheels with Federal RS tires... mid next year.

Thanks Paul
Amazingly, I still haven't got the momo steering wheel on yet.... it will be on soon, as well as this.....
thanks again to kombi saint
I still have a set of new guards lined up with dave (stidub) that i have to get cash for, then its just little bits and pieces for the body work
etc.
as for brakes, i need a new MC, hoses, seals, and bearings and some machining.
I secured some new carbs (thanks to steve carter ), but im just going to
use one, so need a manifold and linkage stuff for it... should go well
with the new exhaust, once the body work is done... good fun.

Should be able to get 6. I was revving mine to six at warwick and it is a mild cam with the timing hugely retarded to the problems we have had with
pinging

tuned my carbs up today and it easily revved up to 4500rpm but didn't want to push it past that. I'm sure it would do 5200 if i wanted it to but
dont really wanna warp the crankshaft

As it is now

Single DNCF 40mm - Ramflow air cleaner.

The new exhaust.

New rear valance

then new (second hand....) front struts.

At this point, in the next few weeks the brakes will get done... then i will concider what to do after that.
just need seals and hoses for the brakes... and then if im really
unlucky, a new M/C.

Its a bit rusty, and the heat risers are gone, but i dont need them here.. it rarely gets cold enough.
the single is a good upgrade for the 1600.. and has worked out a crazy load cheaper than kadrons.
I am trying to get out of this setup for a little as possible, because its only going to be like that for 12 months. But from what I have discussed
with Joel, it will be heaps heappppppppppps better than what im running now
AND.
Made these today/ my first videos. be nice!

Colonel,
Just pay regular attention to the foam filter in that Ramflo. It breaks down if too old and will get sucked into the carb or engine.
Enjoy

Cheers mate!
I will most likely invest in something with a flat top to avoid water coming in, once i have a bit more cash. I think they are about $40 each from
micks. might even find them cheaper on ebay...
this is the style I would like

once i can get a bit more cash together. just managing to pay the bills at the moment. i finish all the assessment for my course this week, so i will
be able to pick up a bit more work after that.
the brakes hopefully in the next 2 weeks. (then if they dont get better, its another $200 for a M/C)
then body work - $1500 is the guess.
I've never pulled an engine from a vw before, but im thinking about doing it myself. I know i can do the exhaust and intake myself. just need a hand
with clutch alignment (my mate is a mech and has tools i can use) Its also having another car that i can use while mine is out of action for a week or
so. the last parts i need are...
Brake seals
flexable brake lines
Master cylinder (maybe)
Spark Plug leads
Spark plugs
Blue Fuel hose
Intake gaskets
Intake boots/clamps
Copper Exhaust nuts
Breather hose
Breather vents
Gearbox mounts (urethane)
That should get me stopping, intake, exhaust, clutch and oil breathing done..... Hopefully by new year
then mid-mount for the gearbox, and strutbrace(early next year...). then front end lowering. and after that is wheels/tyres (probably 6 months
away).
The biggest choice i have to make is, do the body work or just bodgy it up with a large hammer. - that would save me $1500 that i just dont have....
its a fun game.

uh yeah... already spent that. Paid for my course, which was just a bit more important.
its not a huge job given that with a few hundred $$'s more in parts, it would just be labour... i just dont have the money for it, and i cant find
anyone that is reconmended for VW's locally.
It doesnt need to look pretty, but it needs to be straight.
next one the to buy list is gaurds and bumpers/brackets. trying to avoid non german stuff. (but planning on doing the bumpers and light surrrounds in
matt black..... - but still keeping the rest of the body rat style.)
