Once a pedestrian gets hit by a beetle with eyebrows and cuts his/her leg off or even worse..
they will come to the attention of the safety people and insurance companies....
I'm not saying they look terrible etc... just dangerous...

I kinda think VWs look a little plain without them.
I'd also like to see someone provide evidence of past incidents where someone's leg was actually severed by these. A pedestrian being hit by a VW
(or any car for that matter) will be in a whole world of hurt. With or without the lids fitted.

you cant relate a movie scene crash to anything realistic
as it was in that small scene that bug changes models 3 times from 70 standard to a superbeetle to a mid 70s fuel injected bug
not to mention the tyre tracks on the grass you can see from previous takes

Did'nt quite stop the snow covering my headlights on this day though I've had these eyebrows for about 20 yrs and they have the rolled edges... So no nasty sharp edges protruding... On old cars like
ours though they were never designed for pedestrian safety... Even my rego plate has sharp edges!
If it's not in a Vee Dub I'm not going!

Before I became aware of their true name I used to call Bel's her eyelashes...probably why I decided she was a pretty girl dub
...protruding eyelids is a good one...more like a cartoon character look
This has become a hot topic

Come on Lee how about that fact that the bumper bar has most likely already shattered the shin and knee of the dumbass pedestrian!
I like them, but I don't have them on my car. Wouldn't suit it.

Omg, you'd need some seriously heavy duty wax to remove those suckers.
