You might be right Jay, as now I think of it, Dave Birchall got his Sea Blue '65 roof redone in the stripy earlier vinyl material. Perforated might be '66 and on in Australia.

Mark if you are happy with the way yours looks now, I wouldn't worry about replacing it - unless you've already pulled the old one out! New kits are readily available anyway if you have. Classic, Vintage, Volksbahn etc.

Re inside door handles - it's a very simple matter to fit a passenger-style padded pull handle to the driver's door. The foam handles are available new. You just need the bolt-on vertical metal strut which fits on the door under the panel. Get a passenger side one from the wreckers. The result looks stock, even if it isn't.

Was there a particular style of antenna used on this model. Mine looks very sad and would like to replace. Were they the old spring job?

the ribbed material is impossible to find and work i had an old roll but its extream;y hard to work

the perforated came out in 68 from memory

the pre 67 bugs had a 2 post antena on the front 1/4 panel

I'll get a two poster, bug went in for finish up and spray today.
Just miss matched colour on seats now problem. Door trims original and great!

Other than the door hinge mirror was there another popular style mirror on 65 bugs. Not sure what I will go with yet and running out of time>
