Hi

They also use those solenoids on petrol/LPG systems, they turn the petrol off when LPG is running.

Hi Joel

I bought one of these Bosch relays like your today PN # 0 280 230 001. It didn't have a wiring diagram on the side, do you have any info on this before I start trawling through Commodore forums?

I've never heard of one either Joel...

I have an electric fuel pump located under My tank connected thru a switch to the ignition...
so I can switch it off at any time...

I also have the fuel cutoff solenoid from a gas car...
but I don't know whether I will use it or not...

as when the pump is switched off..
NO FUEL gets thru the pump...

as I did today, to drain the bowl in the carby
just switched the pump off and let the engine idle until it ran out of fuel...

I use a standard relay to switch the pump on/off..

cheers

LEE

it works exactly like a normal relay but it looks for a tacho signal from the coil

if the engine stalls or dies in an accident theres no tacho signal so it stops the pump

thats some special relay Joel...

I was thinking of putting in circuit breakers at the battery
so any short circuit will be taken out there...

Learn something every day Joel...

cheers

I have seen electric fuel pumps located in the engine bay..

they also seem to work there...
so long as they don't get too hot...

the metal pumps need to be mounted on rubber otherwise you hear every tick tick tick....

cheers

Hi Lee,

Still nothing happening on my car now for the last few months. Cant get motivated to do much at all.

Health wise, feeling reasonable but as said - low motivation.

Bought a couple of small things about 6 weeks ago when it was at 81 cents.

Cheers, Kev

Hi Kevin

My pin numbers differ from yours, most likely a different relay.

Just got another email from Bosch

50: Start Signal (from starter or ignition switch crank position)
87: Switched 12 volts (out)
87b: switched 12 volts (out to pump)
31: Ground
1: negative side of coil (trigger to keep relay engaged - engine running signal)
30: +12 volts supply (switched 12 volts in )
15: +12 volts supply form ignition key
