How many sets of lights does it take a $229k Carrera S to learn?

2lt turbo "real capacity" is 2lt x 1.7= 3400cc
So 3400cc gives you 242hp atw = 1hp/14cc engine capacity.
My 1916cc NA gives me 138hp atw= 1hp/13.8cc engine capacity....... sorry mate, who's producing more HP per cc ??!

HP = Investment / Time + Continual Improvement.
As Pete said, Craig and Stan haven't got to where they are by sitting on their asses. The figures that Craig is getting as per the equation, is by an
investment into his motor combination over a period of time, and continually striving for that extra edge. That's how you get in front of the pack.
When it comes to circuit racing, no one is going to give away their secrets. The tweaking that's been done is a financial investment to get to those
figures, and when you're racing, you want to have more power and a better setup than your opponent. Yeah you can buy something off the shelf that
will be close to Craig's, but if you want to get those figures, you're going to be up for some $$$$$$$$$.

Whats this "real capacity" crap, its a 2l at the end of the day no matter whats done to it. I aint knocking your hp numbers, there good from what I
can tell but a hell of lot of mods from stock to get there, ummm I think I added a Mictotech to mine. We can compare figures again come February 2010

Hi
The 1.7 is a CAMS thing. Which still means you cant compare NA to turbo.

I love these threads - hilarious!
For me it is a fantastic thing that Stan Pobjoy has been a constant part of the VW scene for years.
He is a real character from a bygone era - he was formally trained in manufacturing - in the aviation industry no less!
Trained in an era when real standards mattered and if you got it wrong you got your arse handed to you by your supervisor.
I wonder how much real understanding is taught now - or is all 'protocol driven' CNC crap. To think your way around a problem takes real
understanding - not guesswork.
I think all would be better off trying to understand how Stan does it - after all - he is still the benchmark.
This should be fun,
Smile - It confuses people

Sigma's are cool cars.
I did not know you were a fan of them Craig?
I'd love to get in on this discussion,
but unfortunatly I dont make anywhere near those hp/cc numbers.
Now all I have, to assist with my elevated sense of self esteem,
is my enormous genitals.
