OK as if lower case can't suffice ffs
anyways a question..
I was wondering if where does all the money go?
I know when I go on dubs by the pub run or action day
local registered clubs collect the cash n proceeds go to the club for insurance n for charities etc
but where is k c regoed n where does profits etc goto
any light here would great in my dim mind
thanks yeah
|
To answer your questions.
The money goes back into the show next year, making it bigger and better.
Klubfest 09 cost $6933 to lay on, gate takings were $7116. Making a grand profit of $183.00
Would you lay out that much in the hope that it does not rain and be a washout
If you attended our last three shows you would have noticed the effort and time that the committee put in, to make Klubfest one of the best events in
the country.
I hope this has enlightened you
|
the candle flickers
many thanks for the reply.. of sorts yeah
basically it doesn't answer the two points i outlined (reread above) but i appreciate the effort
an attempt at an accountants report means sfa really
the questions were not of a personal nature as to reflect the response it entails it was of... not..
i am disappointed really at the personalising of this issue but most will rise above that here..
moving forward, as to where i pointed out in the example, now with extrapolation, that said clubs do take on such responsibilities where a figure and
maybe any excess profit and interest is allocated to further events and to a nominated charity(s) for the event entailed.. this to me is unknown, as
is the state registered status with elected reps voted annually etc - the basic questions not answered
these are not hard questions and therefore should not receive hard answers - simple really
in retrospect i am a little miffed as to the response received as to the denigrating nature of wanting to stifle a dedicated committee, camaraderie
and all the family fun that will ensue from the event was throughly not my intention
moreover, i wish a great day out for all that attend and that many more events where like minded individuals can enjoy and share a common good may be
achieved
thanks pauly

H, it wasn't an attempt at an Accountants report, all paperwork is available for anyone to view and has been submitted to the Accountant
Klubfest has, for the past 2 years supported Guide Dogs for the Blind, for which they were very gratefull.
I am sorry if that is not good enough for you?
Klubfest was reserected 3 years ago, ater falling numbers and the lack of facilities, that is when we teamed up with KlubVW, to change the format of
VW shows
The Gold Coast Show, quite simply, was not going ahead, I contacted the organisers first and foremost, so as not to tread on anyones toes. They were
unable to team up with us
You will find that most large shows, Worldwide, are organised by Business, Private Individuals and Event Promoters. This has proved to be a success,
encouraging re-investment. Therfore more attractions, better facilities, increased numbers ect ect. keeping the Volkswagen scene alive and thriving
I realised a long time ago, that you can't please everyone, all the time, nor will I attempt to. There will always be a critic, no matter what you
do, or what effort one puts in. Most people will come to the show and enjoy a great family day out with fellow VW lovers

fantastic, some light and transparency is starting to prevail
firstly who are you klubfest pls?? im paul and i do not know who you are so pls let me know as i can acknowledge on here please..
moreover, it is great that we have learned that this event is run basically by business not a registered car club usually, unless otherwise stated ,
many thanks for that and that i have no problem with
it saddens me to be somewhat villified for somehow not supporting charities like guide dogs for the blind, however the truth that is stated on page
one of the rttsun thread in the kc events section is quote "Run To the Sun will not have an official show charity. However there will be fundraising
on the day for a number of worthy causes
Guide Dogs - Queensland, will have a stall selling raffle tickets and have some great raffle prizes
Hands across the water"
unfort there is 'no official charity' however
its great that 'on the day' there will be funds raised if peeps bring cash for these worthwhile causes.. a fundamental difference
these differences however small are now learned and thank you for pointing this out in a round abouts fashion, i also have no problem with this
aspect
this should not lessen the experience sought by fellow vw people but keep everyone informed as to who what when where questions are asked answers are
freely given
again..
i state that to a dedicated committee of volunteers and business alike , camaraderie and all the family fun that will ensue, i wish a great day out
for all that attend and donate to the worthwhile causes and that many more events where like minded individuals can enjoy and share a common good may
be achieved

H, phew, thankfully you have no problem and the show can go ahead.
The RTTS and Klufest in June are sponsored and supported by business's but run by a committee of volunteers, with the support of club members
If you read the above again, it states that Klubfest 08 & 09 supported Guide Dogs for The Blind for which they were very happy. Because of the
short time we had we could not have an official charity at RTTS this year. Like already stated, RTTS was organised when it was clear there was no Gold
Coast Show
The Rural Fire Brigade will also be there with thier BBQ, hopefully displaying thier Fire & Rescue techniques as well as thier culinary skills

This should be a great day...
Any VW show is much welcomed no matter what organisation puts it on...& to whoever puts them on, I am there......
Cos as we all know if "someone" doesn't put them on, we don't have them...
Looking forward to it & catching up with everyone...

thanks for the reply above kf..
I find it disbeleiving that the primary school ethos of frankly silliness we are reading above
honestly glad we can all move on and have the apparently real hard questions answered even with the derision and contempt displayed quite unessessary
and thus speaks volumes really
so the final question still unanswered is who is klubfest please, enlighten us all
many would like to know yeah
looking forward to learn who the the real klubfest is..
judy I'm with you along with many others who enjoy these turnouts as long as simple questions can be answered with transparency, too easy
bring on the summer of vw shows
cheers pauly

Paul, not sure what the issue is with hiding behind a username? If things are so cool and legit, introduce yourself and drum up some more business to
this show. More the merrier right?
John (3amigos), enough with the personal attacks on people. I've seen you do it here and on kombi club. If there are personal issues resolve them
through a PM or face to face when you see them. It seems all to easy to hide behind a keyboard sometimes and use 'sarcastic' emoticons, which you
seem to be very good for.

Klubfest has been posting on here a while since it was first run as a Bus Stop/ Kombi's in Paradise joint run show. You have only just joined and may
not realise this...
If Klubfest isn't Roy from The Bus Stop and Kombi Club creator, then why does Klubfest have Roys details and mobile number attached to past posts?
You really make it sound sinister, and something that didn't seem suss before really does now? Perhaps Kombi's in Paradise is back in actions under
an alias!!!!
What's with putting up the Facebook link to Kombi Club all the time? This isn't a brainwashing session, people just want answers to simple questions
that are being avoided for one reason or another. Didn't think there was anything to hide?

If Klubfest isn't Roy from The Bus Stop and Kombi Club creator, then why does Klubfest have Roys details and mobile number attached to past posts?
You really make it sound sinister, and something that didn't seem suss before really does now? Perhaps Kombi's in Paradise is back in actions under
an alias!!!!
What's with putting up the Facebook link to Kombi Club all the time? This isn't a brainwashing session, people just want answers to simple questions
that are being avoided for one reason or another. Didn't think there was anything to hide?

Hi there my namne is Lorraine Keen and I am a moderator on Kombi Club, I live at Nimbin, own 3 fully restored kombis and have 3 'garden ornaments' I
love my VW's and I love the VW community.
I am also one of the organisers of Run to the Sun. I do not know who 'Klubfest' is I am assuming it is Roy and will ask him when we meet tomorrow.
Klubfest and Run to the Sun is being backed financialy by Roy at the Bus Stop.........I certainly don't have the money to do so but I am very happy
to help as are the other members of the team Doug Ringman, Michelle Carson, Craig Smith and Alec Brown. Yes we are all KC members and also members of
other VW clubs.
Johnnie of Kombi in Paradise fame has NOTHING to do with Run to the Sun.
Please give us a fair go, come along kick back and enjoy the company of like minded VW lovers.
These shows are not created to make money but simply allow us all to have somewhere to gather and show off our VW's, have fun and meet up with
friends.
I invite you all to come along talk to us if you have any issues and let us know what we can do to make it better next time.
h. please make yourself known to me on the day and I will try and answer all your questions.
Thank you
Lorraine |

OMG Lorraine, about bloody time you joined up here! Can't believe you weren't already signed up! Paul, Lorraine has some awesome kombi's and lives
in one of the best parts of the world!
Thank you for answering the questions i couldn't. Like i said, i assumed Klubfest would be Roy from previous posts, John (3 amigos) didn't need to
make this into something it wasn't, and start getting narky.
This should turn out to be a good get together (not so much a show). Sounds like it's going to be bloody hot, so aircooled dubs if you're
travelling, take it easy.

To put the record straight, 3amigos name is John, he lives on the Gold Coast which is where KIP was but he is definitely NOT Johnnie from KIP. Johnnie
used the forum name of 1kombilover not 3amigos.
I have met KIP Johnnie on several occassions at VW events and I also know John 3amigos very well. |
