front engine mounts should be in OK condition as they don't really move about etc...
I suppose it depends on the milage of the car..
My Auto ones are perfect and i have original spares too... lol
I thought the eurethane red ones would be OK...
South American ones probably aren't much good either..
many of the rubber parts from down there are crap..
even VW do brazil or mexico...
Some one should be making them in the USA..
check CIP1 etc...
or check Wolfsburg automotive in Victoria..
they are having a lot of rubber parts made in Australia..
expensive... but worth it in this case...
same as gearbox/engine mounts....
You don't really want to be replacing them all the time...

I was under there the other day and took this pic, now the rubber bit in the middle is soft and rubbery, not dry and nnot hard, i couldnt see any
areas of stress either, here is a pic,

Yellow rhino mounts LOOK good, but I have yet to destruction test mine. will let you know how they go. Unfortunately I have the red urethane mount at
the front, so nfi how that's going to hold up.

I believe the main problem is that when rubber bushes are new etc they can twist and move without virtually any wear... until 50 years later....
Nolathane and similar Bushes are a dense Polyurethane type bushing that CANNOT twist etc...
So the torsion bar - sway bar - and any other metal piece mounted on or in or around the NOLATHANE Bushing ----
they will just TURN inside the Nolathane bushing until it wears badly...

There is NO Comparison between RUBBER that can be twisted and compressed etc on shafts and torsion bars etc. as OEM
or NOLATHANE bushes which are a hard type of Polyurethane ...
These can not be twisted or compressed like rubber....
