Front End

Adjusters finally fitted to beam. Cleaned the spring packs up, regreased and fitted back into tubes. Coat of paint and it looks as good as new. Until the first trip up the beach!

Fitted discs & callipars. Wheels, steering box and other bits will be done tomorrow night. At least it will be a lot easier to move around now.

Tight Spot

I sat the shell on the pan tonite, ran into one small problem. The body has still got to move back about 70mm, the problem is it hits the linkages on the carbies. Does anyone know a way of remounting the linkage setup.:cry

The carbies are bolted on the wrong way round, swap them from side to side & that will run the linkage at the back of the car & hopefully give you the 70mm you need.

More Room Now

I turned he Carbies around today which gave me the clearance i needed. (thanks for the hint) The throttle bracket was then hitting the back of the body just below the tail lights. A quick fabrication job and a new bracket was made that clears everything. We also had to add 27mm into the pipe running between the carbies so the linkages would not hit. :jesus

Body finally on

We bolted the body on today. A few nervous moments while drilling the pilot holes to fix the bonnet down. Next job is the dash frame, hopefully this will be made by the weekend so we can then start on the wiring.(joy)

Sounds like we could have a race..... I started the V6 Manx when I bought the half cut. Up until then it was a Type 4 manx.. So that means I must have what a 12 mth head start on you.....

You gunna have your finished by end of next year ?

A few hours were spent welding & grinding but it turned out well. The steering colum has been turned around so the indicators are now on the r/h side.

Dash & Gauges

Fitted the guauges to the dash today. It turned out okay in the end, as it was a bit of a tight fit with the speedo & tacho. Now i just have to fit the rest of the car around the dash.

Its looking good, but having setup a previous manx with all new VDO gauges I know that must have cost you a small fortune.
