yes jjweb123 it is a toughened screen you have. I have over 20 years experience in the glass industry with more than half that time specialising in
toughened safety glass. The colored rainbow you saw through the polarised lens is indeed proof that you have a toughened screen. Toughened glass is up
to 5 times stronger than normal annealed glass of the same thickness. Most toughened screens are 5mm thick. As explained earlier toughened glass is
produced by heating the glass up to around 800 degrees and cooled rapidly with compressed air, this rapid cooling is what toughens the glass causing
surface tension by forcing both surfaces to permanantly push against each other. In most cases toughened glass breaks when the surface is chipped
usually by a stone, and the surface tension is released and the glass shatters. In some rare cases the glass can break without any impact to the
surface at all, this is called spontanious implosion of toughened glass and it is not known what causes this to happen. If i was considering changing
my sreen i would certainly pick Laminated over toughened glass. Laminated screens are designed to obsorb impacts from persons in heavy impact
collisions. The vinyl interlayer is desighned to stretch but not break and therefor helps to keep you in the cabin of the car in a heavy impact.

Ob's and most independant windscreen suppliers will be able to help you. Not sure of prices but a couple of hundred should cover it.
