Craig,
The amount of technology, thinking, trialing of components, combinations and learning is no different to going around corners. There are areas where road racers concentrate on and there are other areas where drag racers concentrate on, all in an effort to get to the front. I say this, having played around with road race VW's (in a previous life) as well as drag cars.
The biggest thing is to respect each other for the engineering, lateral thinking, effort and toil that each of us put into our projects - H
