i dunno what your raving about, they just do not sound like a grunty engine.
oh yeah, whilst i do love the sound of a turbo spooling, geez i miss my supercharger, just wish i could make it fit the EJ

Okay yas got me fired up, I work in the marine industry and trust me, a pair of 502 bigblock chevs with open above water exhausts at full noise is
bloody damn fully SICK!! then when ya ears have had enough, you flick the a pair of switches and the electric solenoids attached to the exhaust
system rediverts the exhaust back under water and all is quiet, errr well allmost, reckon its better than sex cheers Frank

Better clarify something, solenoids activate internal exhaust butterflys to re divert gasses & noise below water line, but even in this mode,
once you are wide open throttle not much of the boat is in the water and its just heaven!! this system is really designed for when you are slowly
motoring inside a marina and you dont freak out the normal people, or is that abnormal people

I recon the beetle in the Quaife diff test movie is still one of the best sounding engines ever.

When I was a boy, back in the 1950s, Rolls Royce Merlin engines were very cheap and they were fitted to speed boats which were run on the Swan
River.
I could follow the path of one of them from my home which was a couple of streets back from the river.
The noise was awesome and the rooster tail out the rear of the boat was astonishing.
Later I was to be reminded of the sound of a Merlin engine when there was a Mustang P51 in Perth.
He used to show off by flying up and down, just off the beaches in summer. Lucky blighter.
What a sound. The big paddle propeller stirring up the the exhaust made for an orgasmic experience.
