Is there a way to tell what the motor is for this car 30 or 36hp? i did a bit of searching from what i can see is the single tip exhaust systems were fitted to the 30hp motor and that the oz assembled cars changed to the 36hp in march 1955 i belive my car is feb 1955 so i think i might have the 30hp motor:rolleyes:

Thanks

IN2VWS the engine number is 1-0992868 if you are able to work out what the motor is that would be great.

Congrats on the find - there's plenty of envious dubbers here me thinks!

Thanks for the great comments everyone:)

Hey Joel the thought has crossed my mind about selling the other bug but its not a super though has had a 1600 twin port fitted. It would help to clear some space and provide a few more dollars to go on the oval:D

Yep they are still out there just waiting to be found;)

Does anyone know what the seating capacity is for these oval bugs with no seat belts would it be 4 or 5 seats:rolleyes:
I had a 57 morris minor years ago same no seat belts went to get the car regested they asked me how many seats it had i said don't know they then asked how many seat belts
i said none they then asked how many would you like to make it so i said 5 so 5 seater it was reged as. Thought i would make it 5 just to cover me if i ever needed to carry 5 in the car.

Hi ian.mezz i have a 72 bug and they are 4 seater becouse thats what is on the compliance plate but older cars like the oval and morris minor don't have compliance plates so there is no seating number given. I have had 22 peaple in my mini:smilegrin:
If anyone has a 50s to 60s bug what is the seating capacity on the rego papers?
