Did you end up using one of those combo heatercore/evap units up front?

Ive been thinking about that as the heater will work much better coming out the dash and windscreen vents but Im wondering how well it will work given the coolant has to travel 3.6m to the front of the car then 3.6m back

I used a HotRodAir unit. Bought it through the distributer in Perth. The A/C works really well, and I am pretty confident the heater will be good once it gets all the water. It works very well at 100kmh !!!

Remember that they drive from the wrong side of the car though, so in my case the passenger gets very warm feet :-). I will have to make something to direct some warm air over my way.

They sell a unit that is specific to Beetles I think.
