A milling machine gets that shape notch in rather quick.

With my NOS stuff it's only NOS until it gets put on the car to use! We're only on this earth for a good time, not a long time so not much use hoarding stuff for the offspring to throw in the dump. :lol::lol::lol:

Mind you Adam, I have two NOS up to 1963 Type 3 front left brake slaves. Do you have any use for them? If so I'll send them down with someone from Melbourne if they are at Valla.

What about some of those very rare 1963 1500S PDSIT carbs? Anybody have some pics of those...?

here are some pics of a pair which are getting some love from me atm....Previously trashed, written off, ordinarily unsaveable by any carb shop standards in this country, they are coming together nicely, will be better than NOS in terms of longevity and clearances and will look the part on a certain domed piston 1500S motor currently being built.

Father Dyno!!:fakesniff: I must confess! In a clean-up last year I used my original PDSIT 32 carbs as land fill. I looked at them quite a bit over the years but decided to use the later ones still rather than spend the time reconditioning them. Ah well, it makes yours more valuable now! :lol:

What are you going to use the S engine in? Keep your eye out for a set of NOS 83 bore cyls for my domies!

If your engine number is between 255001-633329, the distributor will be 341 905 205(bosch zv/jcu 4r3). I have a pic of that one in one of these 1500S threads and it is an svda cast iron dizzy that is almost identical in appearance to a 36 horse dizzy.To be quite honest with you, I have never seen an Australian "s" built before August 1964 and every "s" this early that I have seen have been imports. From engine number 633330(August 1964 build), the twin carb motor will have VW 311 905 205D or VW 311 905 205E. It looks like the beetle zv ju4r3, is a full vac distributor(no mechanical advance), has a large vacuum can(not like the single carb small cans) and will have 2 advance springs holding the breaker plate(one at the vac can arm and one under the breaker plate). The standard single carb Zv ju4r3 has only one advance spring.

There were no Australian 1500S cars built before August 1964 (well maybe a month or so for stock). Would have been the standard N body with the minimal trim change (seats and door cards) and the twin carbs put onto the standard 7.8:1 engine. We only had the 1965 Australian S. "The only info I have on the 65 OZ S dizzy is Bosch 311 905 205D

Forgot to mention, good luck finding one!! You will need to do some serious hunting and then when you have found one, get the parts to rebuild it as it will be rooted(they all are).
