Its been a long project, I had decided in the beginning not to cut corners if possible and to do as much of the work myself that I could.
So with meagre resources and only having time to work on the project over the winter months it was never going to be a rapid resto.
Not that I mind I really enjoy the process and as opposed to the high budget outsourced project route I have had to scrimp and save for every input
and involved myself in every process.
It has been a rewarding and personal experience.
I also know that either way lots of commitment is required, more than anyone who has not undertaken a resto can imagine.
I think this commitment as well as the expense is why so many intended projects are abandoned and on sold. Keeping up the commitment is a real
effort.
At one stage after the body work was completed my project was idol for most of one winter simply because i was overwhelmed by the enormity of the
task.
So many pieces to put together, they had been removed and boxed 2 years earlier and i was exhausted from the body work and painting and had lost
momentum.
Then i was given a kombi scene jigsaw puzzle for my birthday 1000 pieces and my daughters and i sat down to piece it together.
The progress was slow but we were committed to do at least some of it every day and soon it came together.
This exercise was the perfect analogy for what i needed to do . Commit to advance one piece at a time focus on individual tasks rather than the
entirety of the undertaking
So as you can see I have all but finished I have been spending some time accessorising as documented below I like red things!
Cargo doors should be on next weekend and then off to rego in time to road test prior to Valla .

Stripped the door cards and grafted in some map pockets from the samba
made up some aluminium stuff

Finally got this registered a week ago and took my daughter to her formal last night smiles all around.
Just need to figure out what my next project will be . something smaller I think.
This is the first bus I have had with safaris WOW like riding a bike without a helmet sunnies definitely required.
