I had someone ask me to make these and thought I would post them here too

If any one is interested just hit me up with a email.

Thanks,

Did anyone else buy one of these Racing Stripe Kits?
The Stripe was decent but the lettering needs some reworking.
Let's hear your comments.

I pm'd him ages ok for the files so I tweak them in corelDRAW while I sit in front of the car using my laptop and get direct measurements.

got no reply though. I can make it from scratch but it will be a lot more work.

I bought one of the Stripe Kits he had available on eBay, tried to contact him, but no response. He hasn't posted on theSamba since Feb 25, 2011, I don't know what happen to him.
As I said the Stripe was nice, I did a mock-up of it on my car and it appears to be spot-on, the angle at the rear and length will work nice to trim at the door gaps.
But, the lettering "TYPE 3" needs some refining, as with the spacing of the E & 3. I like the E & 3 connected as in the Australian Brochure and for those that don't, can make separate. I have the correct artwork for the "TYPE 3" from the measurement and photos that you had provided.
I'm probably just going to have my vinyl guy make some with the correct lettering and use with the Stripe Kit.

shouldn't be a problem for me to make some and get one of my customers to cut out whole bunch for me.

After all I do work in the printing/cutting industry and represent Zund, a Swiss cutting machine manufacture.

Just need some time

Is anyone still keen on getting stripes? I have a sign business & was thinking of doing some repro stripes. I'm tossing up about some Empi C stripes for myself, but also looking into the Aussie type 3, the lower sill panel ones, formula vee.... anything like that. Looking at Beetle stuff too.

Also considering doing some "patina" style ones with cracks cut into them as well, need to do some fiddling to see if it looks OK first.

Respectfully the title is 1972 Type 3 Australian Stripe Kit.
It was first seen in the 1972 Australian VW Sales Brochure and in the 1972 Australian VW Accessory Brochure.
Yes, the late '70's Type 3 Model.
