The mind boggles!!! like to see the size of the recess in the lifters, do you have a valve spring compressor big enough? your valve seats are
going to cop a pounding.!! I have built some pretty big & tuff 8.1 litre bigblock chev engines and your valve springs absolutely dwarf any
motor I have ever put together! Somewhere in my workshop, I have an intake valve out of a ship, the valve stem is 18 inches long & your
spring looks like it would suit it, are you sure your not having us on???? if this is for real, I just gotta see a pic of the assembled head, thats going to be one sick puppy!! cheers Frank

WPVW prep for Portland a little slow due to late arrival of parts ordered . Ben Fords' supercharged bug is repaired and will be ready to run at
Portland with new 930 Porsche CV conversion .
The turbo oval has had the turbo serviced , fuel system flushed and methanol fuel added . The dyno session was not as successful as I had hoped with
the engine erupting when coming on boost , climbing the rollers and then slipping the clutch . I will have to replace the clutch tuesday night .
The broken transmission from the WPVW turbo vee will be removed today and a new crownwheel and pinion fitted tomorrow .
see you all at Portland , have a safe trip ........

Shane did have his new Drag buggy out at Sydney. He went out to get a feel for the car and see how it was going to behave. He was well prepared to
take it easy and get acquainted as there are always things to look at when a new car & driver is making its debut. He should be making plenty of
noise at Portland with the supercharged Buggy!

I think for a signwriter he has done a damn good job building his first Tube Chassis car.
A big thanks to everybody involved in the 3 year build. There is a long list of people and they all know who i'm referring too, your assistance,
guidance and friendship are invaluable to both of us!
Cant wait for Portland!!!!

The beast is not looking good for Portland, had a pair of custom made CV joint axles & they are still in Melbourne waiting to be heat treated,
hate outsourcing work!! hate the excuses over the phone! but hey, cutting fresh splines is way out of my depth. Rhys & I will still turn up and
still enjoy a crazy & great weekend. Anybody missed the deadline for entering a car? maybe can work something out cheers Frank

Well done Ian and Rose
Guys, you should have made a bet with me when you picked up the 54 in a thousand pieces from my place in December. If you told me you'd be driving
the car in Portland I almost would've bet my 56 that you wouldn't be. I'm glad I didn't bet you.
Have a great time.
I'm amazed at your efforts. Well done.

Dave , stick with machining parts and building engines . The weather was shitty last night and the street meet was cancelled due to the rain . This
morning the street parade has been canned due to the cold windy day ahead . It is not raining at the moment , but it looks real shitty outside , ROD .

My son Rhys & myself got there 9.30am friday morning, set up the tent & BBQ , then raced off to the sand dunes for the dune buggy action.
checked out some wild and wonderful buggies & also an ugly thing that had an engine in the front, but each to their own, the rains came as we
were about to leave the dunes and a few were concerned about the steep hill one had to drive down to access the dunes, now to get back up it, it was
now very slippery !!! the wolsburg T3 mobile with beach buggy on trailer was doing a nice waltz up the hill and only just slithered over the peek.
a couple of klms up the road it died ( ran out of petrol)!! lucky I had packed my steel tow cable in the trusty chev, so hitched up the whole lot
and towed it the 15 odd klms back to Portland & parked him right in front of a petrol bowser, I must say, we got some strange looks!! Friday
night we were under chocos annexe sharing a few laughs and I must say, Doc is mad! he comes up with some bloody funny shit!! ask the guy about a
battery drill. YOU WILL BE GOB SMACKED !!! The rain really set in and our old tent was not enjoying it, I raced into town & bought a tarp
and slung that over the tent, about 10pm my son tells me that most of the bedding is awash. So in the pissing rain we pulled the whole lot apart,
chucked it back in the chev and headed back to Geelong. Our first stop was the local car wash in Portland where we got a bit of shelter from the
rain and got out of our drenched clothing and put some nice dry warm clothing. The wipers were going full blast for the whole 3 + hour trip home,
the water wasnt running off the road and we spent most of the time aqua planing!! it was like driving with your hand brake partially on. Got up sat
morning and the wind is so strong here in Geelong it would blow a dog off its leash!! hope it gets better for all those that have stuck it out and
I wish them all the best and a safe trip back home. Shit they are a funny lot !!!!!!!!! cheers Frank

David O'Connor won the quick 8 with a .001 RT on a 7.00 DI-think he ran 7.01.Andrew ran a 7.4 with a new crank to replace the broken one from
Warwick, and he's tried a new cam with no other changes. The early white Golf was awesome. He got to the final, but just missed out to a VR6.

Westi was in the final off quick 8 against David O'Conner but missed out . He said it was a real close race .
I think Rose made it through too aircooled final , Don't know results.
