When pagey did his he also used a bit of baby powder to help the jigsaw glide across the lexen without it grabbing and jumping. Will also reduce the risk of scratching as well!!

I use about 2.0 to 2.5 lts on a 1/4 mile pass. That includes some driving up to the stageing lane, a burnout, the pass and hopefully the return to the pit!

I’m using that dam awful VP 115 supreme. It corrodes everything it comes into contact with, gums up & crystallizes in the carburetors when left unattended, stinks out the car each pass, the vapors gives me a headache, it cost S*%t loads to buy, it doesn’t keep fresh for long, the car chews up heaps of it every pass BUT it makes good hp.

Best thing is you can crank some serious timing into the ignition and run high compression ratio without fear of frying the heads and pistons.

Man, I think i would rather use 98 pump fuel or methanol!
I get 205lt of methanol for a whole year and the last lot was only $210!

Tell me about it. It pains me to spend near on $300 for fuel each time I race and thats not including the diesel for the transporter to get me there.
That’s why Beetle Juice will be running on methanol next year At least methanol won’t cost us $140 per 20lt drum.
Cheers
Oh yeh and I forgot the driver and co builder of Beetle Juice, Steve Craven works for Coogee Energy who makes the Methanol race fuel . I hope he can arrange for a sponsorship deal for himself!
PS my engine is 2332cc but runs 12.5 compression and a massive cam.

No smoke from my old girl Dave!! As for Troy yes he is a member of westi's puffing Billy brigade!!

Funny how the cars that blow a fair bit of smoke were all pretty quick!!

Westi, Troy, Wayne Penrose lol

Stock nothing like checking the oil after each run. More equals plenty of upper cylinder lube hey lol

Have you looked in to E85?
Ive been doing a lot of research on the E85 from the pump ($1.05L), not the
$2.00 stuff from race shops.
Should be very good for a volksy engine, run cooler, more timming, more power and you only need 25-30% more of it than 98, as opposed to methanols 2.3 times more.
I'm also told it has a wide window for tuning, we will see.

Oh, my main reason for E85 over methanol is I don't need to add 6 more 1700cc injectors on top of my current 6x 1700's,
and I can drive it on the street.
Though doesn't relate to your car, but still worth a look.
Keep the pics coming!!

i run E85 in my car it is a good fuel but i have to flush it out as it turns black from the fuel line and blockes the pump nozzles in the carby.

i wonder if the rubber is synthetic or natural you be talking about. will that make a difference?
i know with synthetic oil you really cant use natural rubber as it will deteriorate.
maybe the same for fuels:D
