Mine only made 222hp.
More tinkering to work on with the combination,
but sounded strong
and the 350g pushrods and 900lbs springs stayed where they should be!
Leons trike was another awesome one with over 270!

Was a great day. Many thanks to Pete, Brennden and their crew of helpers. Thanks to Al and the other sponsors for helping make the day happen.
I had a great time talking to some people I hadn't met before along with old friends.
Leon and his crew were very professional on the dyno.
I managed 7.4hp more than a 1600cc with a 34 pict carby. ()
The 82.1hp out of the formula vee was impressive.
My chart is below. It is an economy tune and I am very happy with it. The curve is nice and flat for carbs.

For a laugh (and because nobody else would) I took along my daily MK1 diesel with the turbo conversion.
The 1980 1.5 litre Diesel MK1 turbo was good for 44.3 hp.
Considering that a stock MK1 diesel makes around 29hp, that's a 60-70% power increase simply from bolting a turbo kit onto a tired diesel motor with
no other mods.
I also filled the dyno room with plenty of diesel black smoke. The positive was that I was able to drive home with no new strange noises!!
Well done Pete, Brenndan and crew on the day.

I must say a big thanks to Pete and Brenndan and thier families for the efforts they put in to making Dyno Mania a great success, also to Leon and his
crew for thier part in making the day go well. Unfortunately our camp had a few issues and so we were a little dissapointed but still we were to come
home smiling with no damages so no real complaints.
Col and I basically ended up VERY late due to a busy week and not having all the cars prepped in time.
It all started the week before.
Brett (been building a big trike engine) had an accident getting parts on saturday last and after surgery monday is yet to come out of a coma so his
project is stopped.
So by mid week,
Cols engine is yet to begin assembly due to bearings not being supplied correctly (you'd think we'd know better )
Don decides he and his georgous black powerhouse can't make it......his new girlfriend has an important birthday !!!! excuses excusses!
My EFI fuel hoses have been late coming from the states so the type 4 hadn't been even started !
By friday morning my car was running and Col's engine was head to head and the fun could hardly be far away.....could it?
My engine as some know is an old race type 4 that i acquired, well with the efi and exhaust now on it, and it's silly high CR, it was having major
detonation issues, so the tuneup was compromised to say the least, the final set up (around midnight fri! ) ended up 4* ATDC ignition timing, 11:1 AFR
and a 'special' racing fuel.....finally I was happy enough to run the Hillbilly horspower machine.
At this stage Col was busy getting the engine together, once installed and carbs were on, the oil system was pressurised and his initial start for cam
breakin was started at 3:18 Saturday morning.......if only there was a 'youngest engine' award......
We then fitted the inner valve springs and adjusted the valves before h arrived at 6:30 for the cruise down to DYNO Mania....
Well Col's engine has a new cam (Berg 310) and for all efforts we didn't get rocker shimming/tappet clearances/geometry right so it became a no show
for the dyno !!!
News is is goes like stink but, and last time that engine won dynomania event it made 137 rwhp.
The day was a little disappointing for two customer cars.
Tony's manx, hot off the trailer from the Casino drag meet, when on the rollers, ran on three cylinders and recorded a measly 78rwhp should be closer
to 125-135.
Marcus 2165 bay ute, got a bit of bad fuel enroute and missed down low with a partially plugged idle jet....Doh !!!
On a better note, Marks manx, a recently breathed on 1915 won the under 2.0 litre air cooled catorgory. 95 rwhp, with a baby cam atm, keep an eye out
for this one, Mark has a few plans.....
The Hillbilly car also won the catorgory...over 2.0 litre air cooled with a surprising 122 rwhp. Can't complain about that.....
Only took 2 pic's when we first got there

Thanks to Pete, Brennden, Lisa and everyone else behind the organisation of this great event. Big thanks to Leon, Andrew and the crew for such
efficient operation of the dyno all day with minimal break/rest periods. I am always happy to support Dynomania as it is a great alternative to the
static shows and most importantly gives everyone the chance to 'shoot the shit' with old and new friends.
Cheers

My list of thanks numbers quite a few people so I'll try and remember all of them. If I miss you then my humble apologies!!
Big thanks first of all to Peter Page for doing a lot of the leg work this year in getting Dyno Mania off the ground after a 1 year absence. Thank you
to Lisa for organising the food side of things plus all the extended Page family for keeping the BBQ rolling along.
Rod Richardson and Troy Alder for their help in the lead up to the event namely the 24-48 hours before trying to get everything sorted including
getting cars to run(which was ever so close too)
Leon, Andrew,Michael, Sarah and the rest of the crew from Leons motors who's name I cannot remember!! Your efforts on the day were outstanding and
this year was by far the best and smoothest operation we've had yet!! Thanks Guys!!
All of the sponsors who got behind us again and those for the first time as well to support this event which gets bigger and bigger each year!!
Alan Agyik from Das Resto Haus for your continued support as major sponsor of Dyno Mania. Thanks mate for all your support and assistance in making
this event what is becoming!!
Craig Hughes from VWMA for helping us with advertising the event through VWMA and for partcipating each year with a different car!!
Polar Freeze Refrigeration aka Wally Penboss for the use of the mobile cold room!!
Special thanks to Matt Berry Motorsport for putting in a huge effort to get soo many cars there on the day!! Aaron Roberts for getting the Kombi back
operational so to speak just for this event and for anyone else who put in a big effort I didn't know about to get a car there ready to compete.
cheers!!
Lastly my boss aka my Wife Jen for allowing me to do this each year and chewing up a lot of my spare time to put on an event to be of a benefit to the
VW community as a whole.
Results to follow...

Considering what you're shooting for, I'd say 222 is a bloody good starting point DB !!!
Interesting how your max power comes in progressively earlier ... what sort of engine revs is that... 7000'ish ???
Looks as tho your engine likes to be fat too... that .05 lambda richer down lower giving 10hp... maybe wants to be a smidge richer up top too ???

My theory is that the cam and/or intake runner length are the first peak, (6200rpm with 265 degree cam)
and the second peak is the cylinder head. 7600rpm
(actually it is the intakes' minimum cross section to cylinder capacity relationship).
Tried to run it leaner on my guys dyno and it went backward,
so things to look at will be
better atomization,(and shorter intake length)
better ignition,
and more cam duration.
