Lowlight Ghia Cab.
I know I'm biased, but is it just me, or was that Hopkings Lowlight Ghia Cabrio the star of the show !!!?
I was shocked to see it there, I'm surprised it hasn't had more comments from the forum. It would have to be the best in Australia surely.
We ( I ), can only dream.
Cheers,
Nick.
Regarding the exhaust on the splitty, I know nothing about exhausts, but from what I've seen, know the Hopkins crew aren't ones to cut corners.

Angel eyes on the Beetle.. dam it somone has been reading my notes on how to do it LOL!!
Shame the split Beetle wasn't completely original. Car looks fantastic and I could even live with the Porsche rims as they do look the good on the
car but the exhaust system is just a disgrace on a car of that quality....
|
I'm no expert but isn't that exhaust an abarth style exhaust used on Okrasa kits back in the day. To me it fits perfectly with the speed accessories
on the car. Beautifull car regardless

I reckon all the good cars have been covered.. here is some others I liked.
Yes its a fatty.. but it looked tough

Chubby had some nice pinstriping..

VWFool was car of the show for me

airbags are cheating..but they work

this was gorgeous

i loved this blue beetle and its red interior

i have a hankering for a low light

or maybe this one

ahhh a rainbow

and i rather enjoyed cruising to the show in this

with its picnic blanket and astro turf interior

All 132 of the shots that made the cut are here:

Here is a couple of the interior of the 56.
Sweet sweet car.
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

That blue karmann was one of the best I've ever seen. The rims and that roof rack were perfect additions.
Was the roof rack a custom job? I've never seen anything like it before.
Great day out and thanks again to the people who organised it. Maybe one year soon my car will be in a state to tackle the grueling 1.5hr drive to
make it there!

Umm dude that aint no POS monza muffler, its a rare Abarth 25/36hp 50s/early 60s period accessory performance muffler.
They were the ducks nuts of mufflers for Porsche and VW of the era.

I know I'am flogging a dead horse here,
But how does the Blue Gia qualify for Historic Rego?
Lowered, Narrowed beam etc.
The rule states standard with peroid accessories & safety modifcations(brakes seat belts) permitted. The club of which the car belongs should know
this & not allow it.
This is one more display of the scheme being abused and will lead to the schemeeventually being canned by the RTA as they want the $$ and didn't want
the system in the first place.
