I think thats 2 splines down on the front by the looks, mine is that height. But rear I have no idea? All the type 3s I have owned were already sagged
to that level on the rear

Hi Mattyv,
I haven't actually done anything to the front other than to put the low profile tyres onto the original Empi Riviera rims. I did however completely
replace all suspension components - shocks rubbers etc. Result, a very pleasing stance, great handling, a squeaky front left bush from a dry joint,
and the need to have the speedo recalibrated. (replaced the original with KPH a few years ago). The comparison photo of the standard size tyre and
rim compared to the low profile on the Riviera tells it all.

Thats sure the easiest way to lower a car!!
I had a v-low fasty before with 145's on steels up front & no bump stops, also the steering had to be reduced to stop arching out.
Looked good but thats about where it stopped, if you want a car to drive around freely & without major worry's then sorry but you cant go that
low.
Steve, how do you find your gear ratios now?, i checked online an rivieras with 175 65 15's as Ive got on reduce the speedo reading by about 2.8%
& therefore the gear ratios so Im looking to go back up to 175 75/80 15's on the rears to get the top end back up.
Speedos easy, just run a GPS and then put small markers such as red tape V's where the key speeds are, no need to re calibrate TBH.
May turn the rears down a touch if it lifts her up to much, but should only be 10-15mm higher so nice nose rake if anything.

Initially I had the low profiles all round, and found I was wringing the neck out of the 1600 motor to get anywhere, that's when I swapped the rear
tyres out to the 60 profiles. Since I had the motor rebuilt I was revving to 3250 - 3300 at 105kmh (GPS) but last week, had a new gearbox built as I
couldn't stand the whine from the old one, and in the rebuild had 1800cc Kombi 3rd and 1600cc Kombi 4th (.82) included. Dropped the revs by about
250rpm, doesn't sound much, but very noticeable on the highway, (engine pitch). The ratios are fine for the motor, as it has loads of torque and the
gap between gears isn't really noticeable.
Speedo, even though it has been recalibrated is still about 5% low when compared to GPS readout, which is technically within the Australian specs and
a hidden safety measure! That's why when your driving around using your GPS as the speedo, everyone else is going that bit slower than you. They
are probably sitting on the speed limit by their speedo, even in the newer cars. My brand new Golf GTD is around 5% under. (110 GPS = 115-6 speedo!)

Hats off to you steve,
Sounds like you've got it set up very nicely.
Even my 65's make it sound like its thrashing at 100k's so can imagine what the 45's would be like!!
Got my hands on a set of 175 80's now so will get them on this week, just checked online the 175 65's actually lost me 5.7% on my speedo so I guess
the same on the gears and the 175 80's will add 2.5% which im sure will be fine as 1st and 2nd are short anyway!
No rev counter so I can only go buy the comparison charts, cant see why that cant work.

haha yeah my notch has 65 on it. I remember my mate (support lol) in his VY driving with me and he said after a while is there something wrong with
the engine......No why? you driving slow like 100 not 110...... I was like.. wtf? it says im doing just over 70mph and the engine is screaming!
the small tires was like extra high ratio diff effectively
so I bumped it to 77ish mph, geebus! engine going to scatter soon
