JPM???? This car has a Stan Pobjoy engine!

Aussie built.

I doubt JPM would bother with Aus but their MS230 heads are nice!

Greg's engine uses JPM engine components including, heads, valves, cam, rockers, pushrods, pistons etc. It uses a Stan crank. It is the first and
only one of its type in Australia (at the moment). Engine was machined and assembled in Oz by Stan

Why doesn't anyone go bigger than 1916cc? Does that put you in a different class or something?

The class that quite a few of the beetles run in is Improved Production under 2 litre.
So yes, capacity/class related.

There are a number of other Beetles which run engines larger (and smaller) then 1916. In NSW the late Ben Durie ran a 1998 (U2L) stroker as too did
Paul Zenello. There is also Rene's O2L in S.A too. All have raced with great success on the tar/circuit. There are other U2L strokers in the making
also that I know of. The 1916 is just a good and simple engine combo that works (there are others that work well to.. So no B/S about engines sizes
please), thats why there are a few running in the hillclimbs.

Danny I don't want to know. Plus I dont have a speedo. Anything over 100mph in a Beetle is scarey as they really werent designed to go that fast. If
really wont to know you could figure it out if you had a ratio calculator. have a 1.14 top gear, 4.1 diff and last time I was there I was well past
the shift light which is set at 7400rpm when coming into McPhillamy. I think Heath would have data from his ECU he could tell you.

BTW. Its official. The Australian Hillclimb Championship is at Bathurst. Mountain Straight. Perfect for a big reving donk like yours. Hope to see you
there and at the State round in March.

You should be able to smash the record Danny......you need to have a gearbox that will let you get to about 180kph.

Gearbox no problems and have a diff ratio's from 3.7 tp 5.3 so I'm thinking 5.1 and 10,000rpm

Hi Danny
I have received a full list of entrants for the weekend via email.
If BLCC have your email address from your entry form, you should also have a list by now.
If not i can email you a list.
Glen and myself are looking forward to a big weekend of racing and catching up over a camp fire.
See you there.

Cheers Col
