Hi again, looking for advice on these webers yet again. So I have the manifolds mounted and the webers now fit great (after I replaced the old fan housing) with the chokes on, but I wanted to check a couple of things. As mentioned previously in this post i got the webers off a mate of mine who had them on a gemini and one of the carbys has a straight through fuel line (as they were mounted side by side), can i just put some hose on one end and block it off or does there need to be a primary carby?

Also it seems to have vacuum outlet or maybe they're return fuel out lets (don't know too much about them) do I need to run a return line from these carbys? Anyone with photo's of a wbers setup on a type 1 would be much appreciated (as much detail as possible please).

Thanks in advance
Brad

Sorry, but can I conform that the webers when on the Gemini were not side draft webers. As I think you are now setting them up as down draft.

Sorry if mentioned earlier.

All the Gemini's I've seen with weber's had IDF downdrafts, this I believe, was due to there not being enough room for side draft weber's.

As far as the fuel inlet/outlet goes, you can either block it off as you suggested or you can run one fuel line from the pump straight to that carb and then a fuel line from that carb to the other carb.

Can you take a picture of them, that might make it easier for people to answer the above question.

Looks like a vacuum port, I'd say these carbs probably came off an Alfa or a Fiat as original equipment.
Just put a rubber cap on it and forget it.

It's not really a return, it's just there to make it easy to connect the fuel lines up when the carbs are set up in line, like on an inline 4 cylinder. You just connect the fuel line from 1 carb to the other.
You can connect it up like that on your dub, 1 line from the pump to this carb and then a line from carb to carb, or you can just use a tee piece after the pump and then block the outlet on the carb pictured.

thanks for that! I spoke to a guy tonight who told me to cut the fuel pipes off and hammer a lead slinker into them to seal them. will that work, is it worth it?

Crikey, a bit rough!!! Remove the barb and tap a thread and seal with a threaded plug might be a little more reliable.

check your emulsion tubes aswell f11 is what you want you might have a f57 in those carbs if they were on a gem , gemini's had single or dual side draught, manifolds are crap.. too many bends as i have a few off them , and as mat said plug the side holes, looks like they are early carbs with cam pump jet set up
