Hey Luke, i`m trying to have my buggy ready for race day, but we`re still working on it so could you put me down as "tentative" for both thurs &
fri please?
& if anyone has any problem with me bringing this thing down for the race, please just say so now ok? i`ll leave it here if anyone objects (too
much) about it not being VW based... i can stick a Vee-dub badge onto it, or maybe change my gearshift knob to a VW one or something like that yeah???
:-)
& if it`s any consolation , i`ll be carrying it down there in the kombi-->
& my girl Marly said i can run the kombi at the track instead,,, if there`s any problems running the buggy that is :-)

Any more news on the noise regs at Raleigh?
I've just tested my car using some iPhone apps and I'm well over the 94DB limit being imposed....
I can't tow my car down and be knocked back on noise; what a waste. Old VW's are noisy there's no way around that...

Local council giving the raceway constant grief I believe steve....... CT had a post involving marulan track and used chicken wire in the exhaust as
suggested by the track owner there, with some success.
I will try and dig up that thread later when I get home.

Bloody noise restrictions - they did that to me in the Vee the last time I raced at Lakeside. They pinged me at 105, so I put a token silencer in,
they visually inspected it in the pits and let me back out again?! Since then I've put new ceramic pipes on with a larger stinger and they haven't
said boo. Track car for Valla won't be the Vee, but the 'new' car might need some silencing....
Oh and steelo shoved in the pipe with a mesh net over the top is also good. Passes the test in the pit lane and then burns off by the end of the first
lap!!
