The top one is what I like (although photo-chopped and not a bay) big wheels, slammed and a crap paint job.

So rat doesn't have to be lowered? Will a rusty, dinged up body with a crappy paintjob, covered in primer and spray filler that's a shade
or two from the paint colour count? And do I get extra points for a door that falls off if anyone but me opens and closes it? How about a mouldy

Rat has many interpretations.
In simple terms I would say a rat rod is a shitbox that is lowered, maybe a big motor, good set of wheels??, but most of all it must have attitude.
Maybe loaded with accessories aswell :thumb
It isn't a neccessity to be a piece of crap, you can make something good look ratty aswell. I would not call a standard junky car a rat, but it
might be a good candidate for the above mods.
