The car is about as fair-dinkum as you will get.
This is just before I sold it, and you can see the sun-roof frame to the right. I assume that Fhami used that frame.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

Im sorry but you cant really call a car that has been converted from LHD to RHD and also had a sunroof fitted when it didnt come with one as "fair-
dinkum'???

These cars were designed to be either left or right hand drive with minimal fuss, as for the sunroof I couldn't care less is it was slightly out of
period as long as it was installed correctly and the split was my garage.
Try finding an original right hand sunroof split window 52' for 23K

I think I PM'd you Lu, half asleep, to clear this up for people, this is not a original sunroof car, code shows that its a left hand drive deluxe
11C, codes can be found on Samba in the 1938-53 Forum. Apparently the sunroof was grafted in 30yrs ago when Vic from Vicsbahn did the restoration. The
roof was damaged from what i've later learnt. The sunroof was a 54-55?, they differ from what i've learnt and been told, main difference is the
54-55 roofs have a rounded corner and the earlier ones have a squared corner.

Bizarre never got your PM..? Still a lovely car... Wish I had some coin.

I agree.
Worst case scenrio if looking for originality is remove the rag clip and sell- likely a cost neutral exercise for restorative panel work and headliner
replacement
