Thats why the NSW highway Patrol are called the "gestapo" with their knee high leather boots and smart ass attitude. I've had them twice on a trip
to valla push me in my Kombi to try and make me speed so they could get me then when i just sat dead on the limit they overtook me on double unbroken
lines!! It's not about keeping and making the roads safe its just damm revenue raising!!
Whether you are on your red p's green p's or your purple p's if you are in a stocko splitty youll only be doing 80 flat out anyway LOL I'll be
following my cousins in their 56 and 53 splitties so no worry about getting booked LOL
Besides if you get done by a speed camera in NSW you are stupid as they tell you where it is for about 2-3kms from where it actually is unlike here in
QLD where there are some with no signs at all......

vlad, if you, as an experienced driver, can't realise that you are gaining on a vehicle in front and take the necessary steps (brake, change lanes)
to not have to take emergency action to avoid colliding with them
I stick by my statement having taken note of what REALY happens and with over 40 years (unfortunatly not uneventfull) driving behind me.
I dream of a day when a chicken can cross a road without being asked for it's motive!

Hi
Talk about getting goaded by the NSW highway patrol.
Couple of weeks ago I was driving my sons bug to Der Erste Freitag. I was driving along a 4 lane road (2 each way) with a 70 kph limit, next thing a
white unmarked XR6 Falcon comes up alongside at a bit over the speed limit, he kept speeding up and slowing down.
I'm too old to get sucked into his caper and I knew it was unmarked car because a normal citizen could not get away with having window tint as dark
as him.
Then later on the same road where it went into 3 lanes at a set of traffic lights, I moved off from the lights briskly the same Falcon came tearing up
behind me at a very fast pace, I would guess at about 90-100 kph then sat beside me again, speeding up and slowing down.

These are the ones when starting out that you do not want hurtling down the road at 100km/h.
Not everyone gets a feel for a car straight away.

Amen to that Joel, vlad, if you, as an experienced driver, can't realise that you are gaining on a vehicle in front and take the necessary steps
(brake, change lanes) to not have to take emergency action to avoid colliding with them then you realy should do some driving courses, either that or
post where your driving so I can avoid the area.

Im pretty sure that Qld L platers can do the posted speed limit, in NSW learners can only do 80, how do Qld learners go with this in NSW?
Steve

You must abide by the conditions of your license, and the conditions of the state in which you are in, or whichever is lower. So qlders are only
permitted to do 80in NSW

I know that Queensland HP are trained to pick NSW plated cars with L plates, and to monitor their 80k restriction. And likewise NSW HP of Queensland
drivers...
In saying that, they dont know all the rules, had one pull me up and try to tell the driver they must be wearing shoes, cant drive in bare feet. He
wasnt impressed when i corrected him. Thongs are not permitted but no shoes is fine...

Yep, did my driving test without shoes on. Unless I'm wearing my work boots, I never have shoes on when driving.

YIKES
Many truck drivers in NSW [that I see] are wearing thongs, even Now..
also illegal in NSW to go over 3 Metres from your car without locking it with windows nearly closed. I've only heard one case of this law being
carried out at a service station where nearly everyone was booked over a few hours. Can't lock Your kids in the car either.. or leave engine and
air con running in hot weather.
or even the windows down..
Indicators must be used for at least 5 seconds also.. when changing lanes turning etc.. $147 2 demerit points
Rest your arm on or out of the open window is $265 fine//
including adjusting your exterior mirror ..
although driving the wrong way round a roundabout has no demerits etc..??
and last but not least- dust/dirt on the number plate is a $353 fine.. that's why I polish My rear number plate every day.. lol
this law is ignored in country towns, as after a bit of rain You cannot read most of the 4WD out of town cars, actually You have a job even seeing the
plate at all...
