Really nice job ! This is one of the things that makes our sport so cool, we have alot of talented people with many skills. What you have built is
VERY simular to a chassis my friend and I finished earlier this year. On my turbo race car I bent all the 4 studs and cracked the gear carrier ears
off on a launch so when we built the new chassis for John we made a mount that uses all nine studs and also makes that part of the chassis ridged.
The other plate not only is our mount but ties the upper and lower chassis together and unbolts for easy trans removal. Just an idea I wanted to pass
on . Mike McCarthy

only clamped in so its not too late to adjust. i have been trying ( best i can) copy the Rudy car on this link http://rudy-olivenca-services.skynetblogs.be/
Thanks

As the name suggests "Dummkopf" (a stupid person) I had made a couple of mistakes that had to be fixed....steering rack upside down and when i turn
the wheel to the right the wheels went left "%&#*$&^" and i had made the ladder in the rear to wide and couldn't get the 8" tyres under a
stock width guard so i have been fixing those in the last week, all sorted now. had a good go with the grinder too (rust repairs) can't wait till the
weekend for some more time on it.

Hey Stanley, no big plans just wanting to up grade heads and some bigger piston cylinders. Carbs and exhaust are sorted thanks to Mick's upgrade.

quick question. the swing arm in the rear is now 55mm inboard from the normal location, should i have a spacer made up or will the axle tube be strong
enough to weld a plate to, for the swing arm to be bolted too. (hope that makes sense)
spacers that are in the photo are only temporary.

You might be able to make up some space using type 3 tube-ends, fitted to your tubes.
The tubes are at least 2.5mm thick from memory, so anything is possible as long as it is not heavy!!

Use a length of pipe that has a inside diameter same or close to the outside dia of the axel tube weld it to your axel tube to add some strength then
weld your trailing arm bracket to that.
Nice work to, your body looks as rusty as mine
