Someone should do a sheet panel kit (with fuel tank) to change the wheel wells about the lowered beam, as opposed to changing the beam about the
body.
Drill out the spot welds and plug these panels into place.

Actually, I have driven a mud basher with no shocks and the springs wound together giving a nearly rigid front end. Shocks are overrated on salt/mud
flats
I left the pipe, slippers and martini at home, though.
OK - I still suspect it would have handled better with shocks. But it would have needed shock towers to do that...

ive driven stock with shocks, 4.5 with shocks an 6" beam shockless. the more out of the beam the stiffer the ride as klaus said. not legal. mag
wheels arnt legal. differnt tyre profiles arnt legal, but does anyone care about them? no. a 6" beam with no shocks rode well for me an i enjoyed
drivin it. it might be illegal an stupid but it looks good. narrowed beams are like patina. not everyones cup of tea. some people have to have to re
paint their cars others like original. its only original once. repainting a car makes it never original again, but totally repainted/restored cars
always seem to win "best original" at shows. so narrowed beams are a personal choice an if u dont like the look or think its stupid, dont do it.
simple. keep it stock. dont hate people who have chosen to modify their rides. they prob dont judge u for painting over original paint.

also most vw people drive to suit the style of the car.... eg narrowed, slammed cars are built to cruse not to race, just like a 600+hp hotrod is
probably not the best race car but nice to cruse in and show off.
