If I did not have the rugged good looks,
the only thing that would be left to help with my self esteem
would be my enormous genitals.

I was going to say you would have heaps of room for oil spray bars to control temps on rocker gear/springs/heads etc. My unlce has added these to his Type 4 heads and the oil temp rose by nearly 20 deg but the actual cylinder head temperature has dropped a fair bit.

Umm can anyone else see some 10 second passes looming on the horizon..........

Do you think all that gear will be strong enough?
Very serious looking kit and plenty of metal everywhere you look.
What other design differences with the new heads?
(Good decision with the buy before the dollar plummetted.)

No you'll just have to use your imagination this time.
It has been together in my cupboard for over two years.

The engine has smaller duration cam, but more valve lift. (265@.050" and 0.690")

It has more head flow but smaller valves(better air speed).

It also has over 14:1 compression (last combo has 13:1).

That photo was thanks to Stanley who came over on his Friday off
to help with the engine and trans swap.
Thanks for your help dude.

The long block that I have been running was the old supercharged engine
that was upgraded with more comp and roller cam about 3 years ago.

THIS engine going in now, was what I ran when I first got back into racing n/a on 2nd July '05.
At that time I put about 25 drag runs and also dyno time on it.(11.43 & 116mph)
I have given it a birthday of more comression(from 12.7 up to 14:1),
and some more valve lift(.600" up to .690"), and some new mega pushrods.
It is virtually the same capacity(2699cc instead of 2715....0.5mm less stroke).

The best thing about this combo is the heads.
Craig Brown ported these some years ago for a Speedway customer.
I have freshened them up with my valves, and cut the seats.
They flow about 10% better, but with a smaller valve,
so I am hoping the car ET's better, despite the cam being 10 degrees smaller duration.

Hi marcus,
everything is the same.
I will just richen up the fuel system for a safe starting point.
I will reduce the startline rpm to 7300 for the first one and just 'feel' the shift point for the first pass...but prob 8000.
Should be an interesting comparison.:)

Hey Dave
When do you plan for a T&T?
Will be an interesting comparison given the different head work and valve sizes, compression etc.
cheers
Marcus
PS. I've got a T4 doorstop at my place if you run short
