That will be seriously quick if it does. What did the car weigh at the end of the day?

130kw atw on 6 psi of boost.
i just gave him the ok' to t' piece the actuator line to give her some more boost.
200kwatw for starters will be more than enough.

Should be making more than 130kw/174hp even on 6psi. Your later model STI engine will be more efficient than my 94 model wrx engine & I have 152kw/204hp on 8psi. 215ft pounds of tourque. Even if u run wastegate pressure as I do, I think from memory that 12psi is wastegate pressure on the STI late model turbo's
How much timing & fuel is in it? They fall over with more than 29d timing & my sweet spot for fuel is 12.0:1 on boost. Stock rexy come from the factory with 10.0:1 & less.
Your car will be lighter than my 1020kilo fatso Mick, so the 58 will smell from the poo in your pants.
U have so may variables, inlet temps, flow from the aftermarket intercooler, dump pipe design & air inlet design. Header mods etc.

I took my dyno man for a drive the other day (he got his cape caught in the door) we were just putting around & I got into it, he was looking everywhere for a grab handle LOL. he said he wasn't expecting anything like that & now understood why I didin't want to turn the boost up & why i was happy with 204hp @ the wheels. He reckons that it would put his R33 Skyline to shame & it runs mid 12s. To impress someone that builds twin turbo v8's for aliving u know u have something special.

Prepare to be dazzled Mick, your jaw will be sore from smiling too:tu:

hmmm...200kph club. In a 58 beetle. Hmmm, may take a little while yet to get the confidence.

I saw Dyno man yesterday afternoon and it was still early days on the tune. They wanted to tweak things a fair bit more. They'd only done the one power run as mentioned above at 130kw. Theres a whole bunch of stuff they need to set and adjust and also tune out of the factory ECU to get it all working properly. Hopefully hear something back soon!

Also, 3mnths out of rego is next Wednesday - so i'm really keen to get it registered and engineered by then, that way i can avoid the extra costs and hassles associated with an unregistered car. See what happens i guess.

i didn't get to hear it running on the dyno but it looked the business sitting on the dyno. Lets see if it can produce it.

Hi Mick
Don't worry about the rego as it has to be blue slipped anyway so you get a full 12 months rego.. So you need to just put your number plates on hold if you want to keep them. Otherwise you will have to hand them in and than reorder them which will cost you more.
So close.

Hi Mick

Bet your like a kid the night before Christmas. Don't you know anybody that can fix the rego, wink wink. Don't hand your plates in, if your not already you have to pay a yearly fee.

I've been told not to use anything but the Subaru stuff. $16 isn't dear for what it does, besides, the local Subaru outlet give it to me trade price cause they love my car LOL:love:

Yes it does work, it's amazing stuff. The difference afterwards is very noticable. I know mine needs when it starts to get the slightest bit of lumpy idle. it drives sooo much better after using it. U won't use it very much if your car is just a weekend toy, maybe once a year. I use it more than that though.

if its the cleaner I get from Subaru, you spray it in a inlet manifld vacuum hose as per instruction on the can

it appears to work.

It gets rid of carbon build up Dave, in the combustion chambers, piston tops valves etc. Apparently porsche & subaru suffer from this the most because of the falt 4/6 configuration. I always wondered if u could use it in the beetle engine?.

U warm the engine up to operating temp, turn it off, spray half the can in, let it sit for 10 minutes, start it up, it's hard to start, take off the same vacuum line & spray the rest of the can in whilst holding the throttle open so it doesn't stall. The more white smoke that pours from the exhaust the better. Seat of the pants difference is instantly noticable.

Hi Mick

My motor is from an Aussie delivered STI but about the same vintage, it uses a VF30.

I think Subarus need to use the cleaner because of the low spots in the intake manifold.
