Um, the bus is a 74 (1800): it's got an alternator that means, I think (?). It's always done this since I've owned it, flickering above (about)
3000, and below about a few hundred (like when it's about to stall - but that's normal isn't it? Well, I'm not sure why the brake warning light
flickers too.)

Yeah don't they all have a VW in them somewhere. I remember the priest guy driving a kg in a flashback once. Don't remember any busses though (I
haven't seen all that many simpsons).

what exactly does a brake warning light tell you when it works properly
........if it has an alternater it shouldnt flicker at all perhaps u have a dodgy regulator or something.....im just guessing here U2U 68autobug he

bit as they say its an S bug but its a 70 model and they didnt make S bugs till 71 (august 70 or soemthing) and its a 1300 when an S bug has a 1600 TP

Nice. Well I've been at Uni for five and a half years now, and some people say that's a bit like a holiday. Of course, I would disagree because at
times it's a lot of work indeed. The summer break is really nice though. But I'm almost done now, and had better start looking for work...
Oh - does anyone know what kind of skills a garage (mechanic) would be looking for in a potential ... eh ... like trainee person kinda thing?

Good morning to you too Barls!!
I'm at work in the city again today.
aggri1 - You spend 5 years at uni and you want to be a mechanic???
A "trainee" mechanic is called an apprentice and you go to TAFE and work at the same time for 4 years. |

Oh yeah that sounds reasonable. See I'll soon have (yeah I will!) a degree in mechanical engineering, and I want to think about all sorts of
possibilities, ya know, keep all options open.
I quite enjoy working on my bus, but have very little actual skill or practical experience, that's why I'd need some sort of traineeship
position.
What work are you in barls? (Ya probably said elsewhere didn't ya, but I forget). Was it defence stuff?
(We're only a few posts shy now!)
